Job Description

Client: Direct Client

Location: Cambridge, MA

Job Title: Associate Scientist III

Duration: 1 Year+ (Possible Extension)


Summary: 

Perform histology and immunohistochemistry assays for analysis of preclinical and clinical samples, and related duties such as quality control, sample accessioning and instrument routine maintenance. 


Primary Duties 

Perform routine and specialized histotechnology-based assays on cells and tissues. 

This will include harvesting, fixing, trimming, processing, embedding, sectioning, staining and coverslipping. 

Histotechnology will include working with frozen and fixed tissues using both histochemical and immunohistochemical methods. 

Work will involve robotic instrumentation. 

Follow procedures according to established SOPs and other department guidelines. 

Perform data entry, sample accessioning and sample tracking. 

Responsible for documentation necessary for Quality Control, Preventive Maintenance and assay validation. 

General laboratory duties duties that may include instrument routine cleaning and maintenance, lab reagent inventories. 


Requirements 

Excellent tissue handling techniques. 

Experience with routine histology, special stains, and immunohistochemistry 

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. 

Excellent interpersonal skills. 



Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in biological sciences. 


Minimum 3 years laboratory experience in academic, industry, or hospital setting.
