Job description

Purpose:

A Construction & Forestry (C&F) Sales Representative for GT&E is a field-based sales role specializing in Construction and Forestry Equipment and Compact Construction Equipment (CCE). The territory for this position is focused in Philadelphia, Delaware, Southern Montgomery and Bucks counties.    The role is responsible for developing new customer relationships, nurturing existing accounts, and driving sales while maximizing gross profit margins. The representative will initiate Sales, Rental and Lease agreements for new and used John Deere equipment, as well as related attachments and accessories ensuring customers have access to the right solutions for their operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers in both the agriculture and construction markets
  • Promote and sell new and used John Deere Construction, Forestry (C&F) and compact construction (CCE) equipment, as well as other equipment, parts, and services
  • Identify customer needs and recommend appropriate equipment solutions, including rental and lease options
  • Maximize sales revenue and gross profit margins through strategic selling and value-added offerings
  • Conduct on-site visits to customer locations, job sites, and farms to evaluate equipment needs
  • Prepare and present professional quotes, proposals, and financing options
  • Stay current on product knowledge, industry trends, competitor activity, and market conditions
  • Collaborate with internal departments (service, parts, finance, and rental) to ensure seamless customer experience
  • Participate in manufacturer training, sales meetings, and promotional events or trade shows as needed
  • Provide post-sale support to ensure customer satisfaction and long-term loyalty
  • Meet or exceed monthly and annual sales targets and performance metrics
  • Maintains up to date customer contact and account information as well as sales pipeline data utilizing CRM and related tools.
  • Serves as a first point of contact for all customer interactions including A/R, communication of marketing initiatives and promotions as well as all other company initiatives.

Experience, Education, Skills and Knowledge:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Business, Marketing, or a related field preferred
  • 1+ years of equipment sales experience
  • Understanding of the agricultural and/or construction industry, including seasonal cycles and job site operations
  • Possesses skills utilizing common computer applications including Microsoft Office as well as online tools
  • Knowledge of sales processes, equipment financing, leasing, and rental options
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and meet company driving requirements 
  • The successful candidate must reside in close proximity to the territory.
