What We're Looking For

We are seeking an experienced and service-oriented Commercial Insurance professional to join our team to help in managing an established core book of first-generation accounts, along with exciting new business opportunities - encompassing multi-national, cross-border and a wide variety of types of business and coverage lines. You will be working directly with the team that originated and continues to grow this book of business, meaning that you are the type of person who wants to work with people who like to work hard and strive for excellence.

Requirements

  • Insurance experience, preferably 5 years within a commercial capacity
  • Level 2 General Insurance License
  • Recognized industry certification preferred (CAIB, CIP, CRM, BCIT Risk Management)
  • Works independently without supervision
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Superior client service, presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to explain and document sophisticated insurance coverage solutions clearly and professionally
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Service-driven with a client-first mindset
  • Intermediate to advanced MS Office knowledge, with focus on Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Strong sense of urgency when handling accounts, highly organized, proactive, and capable of managing multiple priorities
  • A people person, you work to provide superior client service while working collaboratively with your team and markets

A Day in the Life

  • Manage and service a portfolio of large commercial insurance accounts
  • Build and maintain strong, professional relationships with both clients and insurance markets
  • Demonstrates strong technical insurance knowledge of coverage, with an ability to provide clients with expert guidance on complex commercial insurance coverage and respond to sophisticated coverage inquiries.
  • Delivers exceptional customer experience to internal and external customers. Liaises with Client, Account Executive/Account Manager and Markets
  • Follows Hub Service Guidelines
  • Demonstrates commitment to teamwork and collaboration by supporting Account Executive/Account Manager and Marketer with all aspects of servicing commercial accounts including support of marketing/broking efforts
  • Acts as primary Customer Service Contact in absence of Account Executive or Account Manager
  • Responds to customer requests directly (or indirectly from Account Executive or Account Manager), submitting information to appropriate insurance companies and binding coverage where appropriate
  • Participates in formal account reviews and Critical Path meetings; working diligently to provide value-added services for clients and follow up on action items required by Producer, Marketer or Servicer
  • Collect data from the client, create an expert submission in EPIC and a rate sheet to be presented, identify coverage gaps, negotiate suitable rates and coverages with company underwriters, present Account Executives/Account Managers with best programs, and bind coverage.
  • Prepares proposals, customer correspondence, certificates, and invoices
  • Prepares cover notes on accounts marketed
  • Processes all documentation according to Hub workflows

  • Attaches all documentation into EPIC

  • Assists Account Executive/Account Manager with managing and collecting Account Receivables
  • Reviews and manages Account Reconciliation working with Accounting Team
  • Coaches and mentors new team members
  • Reviews and prioritizes all assigned tasks daily including company mail, emails, abeyances/activities
  • Maintains accuracy of electronic files that may be housed in EPIC, Policy Works, Certificate Exchange, CSR24 and physical files as per agency standards
  • Continues professional development to enhance skills and abilities
  • Participates in training to obtain CE credits to maintain License
  • Obtain License in other provinces or territories as required to service clients
  • Protects HUB from E&O
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

The expected salary range for this position is $60,000 to $90,000 and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate's skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position's business line, scope and level. HUB International is proud to offer comprehensive benefit and total compensation packages which could include extended health benefits, disability insurance, RRSP matching, paid-time-off benefits, and eligible bonuses, and commissions for some positions.
