Job description

Responsibilities

We are looking for a Claims Associate who will assist in the administration and documentation of the property, casualty, workers’ compensation and financial/executive risk claims for the company’s real estate portfolios and corporate activities. This role requires strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with insurers, brokers, legal counsel, third-party administrators, and internal stakeholders. Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Maintain accurate, complete, and organized claim files, including investigation materials, correspondence, status updates, and settlement documentation.
  • Monitor claims activity and legal defense matters in coordination with insurers, third-party adjusters, brokers, defense counsel, and internal teams.
  • Support the end-to-end claims resolution process and track claim status across multiple lines of coverage.
  • Assist with initial loss notices for all lines of coverage and assist with follow-up documentation and coordination among internal and external parties.
  • Track claim costs and notify the team when claims approach established thresholds.
  • Assist defense counsel with the preparation of interrogatory responses, discovery materials, and other litigation-related documentation for insured losses.
  • Negotiate low-value liability claim settlements in a fair, timely, and efficient manner.
  • Support claims under-deductible recovery efforts.
  • Facilitate financial claim processes including proofs of loss, payment tracking, and audit-related documentation.
  • Distribute and help maintain the company’s claims manual and related procedures.
  • Assist in maintaining and updating the claims database to ensure accurate reporting and recordkeeping.
  • Other claim tasks as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in risk management, insurance claims processing, or a related field.
  • Solid understanding of insurance policies, claims procedures, and terminology across multiple lines of coverage.
  • Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment, maintain confidentiality, and manage sensitive information professionally.
  • Commitment to compliance with all applicable laws, regulations and internal policies.

Compensation

The anticipated base salary range for this position is listed below. In addition to a competitive base salary, you will be eligible to receive discretionary bonus incentives and a comprehensive benefits package.

Anticipated base salary range: $120,000 - $140,000 / year

Actual base salary within the anticipated range will be determined by several components including, but not limited to, the individual's experience, skills, qualifications, and market factors.
