The Position
The Energy & Infrastructure (E&I) team, part of the $22 billion Global Alternative Markets portfolio, is seeking a Senior Analyst / Associate as the mandate executes on its next phase of growth. The strategy invests holistically across the infrastructure landscape including opportunities in:
(i) traditional energy
(ii) digital infrastructure
(iii) diversified infrastructure
(iv) renewables
(v) energy transition
(vi) services and software into the infrastructure ecosystem
E&I's mandate is to deliver compelling, risk-adjusted returns featuring strong downside protection and asymmetric upside. The team leverages subject matter expertise, ability to underwrite complexity, speed to execute, and a peer-oriented go-to-market strategy to establish E&I as a differentiated capital partner of choice. This hire will be an integral member of the E&I team with significant ownership of the investment process across thematic research, underwriting, deal execution and ongoing portfolio management. The individual hired will be centrally involved in the execution of direct/co-investment transactions as well as primary fund commitments and relationship management.
Responsibilities:
  • Contribute as an integral member of the E&I Equity team to invest in opportunities across the infrastructure landscape.
  • Manage investment diligence from start to finish, performing comprehensive analysis and developing recommendations on directs investments, co-investments and fund commitments.
  • Effectively screen opportunities, identifying and succinctly communicating the most relevant investment highlights and key risk considerations.
  • Lead the creation of investment committee materials (complete with financial projections) and support in presenting the team's investment recommendations to internal investment committees.
  • Assist in the evaluation, structuring, and negotiation of economic and legal terms.
  • Actively monitor existing investments, maintain external relationships with partners, and provide detailed updates to team members as needed.
  • Contribute to regular engagement with external stakeholders and market participants to support the E&I team's origination goals and enhance market presence.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with additional LMI teams including Legal, Finance, Accounting, and Risk Management to execute transactions and manage the portfolio.

This is a range posting between a Senior Analyst and Associate position; level will be determined by hiring team based on experience.
Qualifications
  • 3-6+ years of relevant work experience in energy and infrastructure investment banking, consulting or investing.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and evaluate transaction risks, value-creation opportunities and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable understanding investment recommendations, and addressing questions from, an investment committee.
  • Detail-oriented, accurate, and capable of producing consistent work product.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; comfortable with consensus decision-making and working in a collaborative, team-based environment.
  • Self-motivated and creative with the ability to work independently; flexibility to take on additional responsibilities depending on the needs of the business.
  • Proven ability to interact and build relationships with internal and external investment professionals and executives.
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and time-sensitive deliverables with a high degree of quality and accuracy.
  • Strong interest in energy and infrastructure with a passion for investing.
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree required
  • Demonstrates strong AI literacy and uses AI-enabled tools to enhance speed, accuracy, and insight generation while maintaining sound judgment and compliance with governance standards.
