Senior RTLS Engineer
Overview

We are seeking a Senior RTLS Engineer to lead the deployment, integration, and optimization of Real-Time Location System (RTLS) solutions across complex industrial and defense environments. This role will serve as a technical expert responsible for delivering reliable asset tracking and location visibility solutions using RFID, BLE, NFC, and related technologies.


Responsibilities

  • Design, deploy, and optimize RTLS solutions utilizing RFID, BLE, NFC, and other location technologies.

  • Conduct site surveys, RF assessments, and infrastructure evaluations to determine optimal system configurations.

  • Install, configure, and support RTLS hardware including readers, tags, antennas, gateways, and networking equipment.

  • Integrate RTLS platforms with enterprise applications, middleware, and operational systems.

  • Troubleshoot RF, hardware, networking, and software-related issues to ensure system performance and reliability.

  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, and customer stakeholders throughout deployment lifecycles.

  • Develop technical documentation, implementation standards, and best practices.

  • Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and subject matter expertise on RTLS technologies.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • 10+ years of experience implementing and supporting RTLS, RFID, or wireless location-based systems.

  • Strong knowledge of RTLS technologies including Passive RFID, Active RFID, BLE, and NFC.

  • Experience with RTLS platforms such as Zebra, Quuppa, SensThys, or similar solutions.

  • Hands-on experience with readers, antennas, tags, gateways, middleware, and RF infrastructure.

  • Deep understanding of RF principles, wireless communications, and networked systems.

  • Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting Department of Defense programs or maintenance facilities.

  • Familiarity with Industrial IoT technologies and connected device ecosystems.

  • Experience with API integrations, middleware, or software development for RTLS applications.

  • Knowledge of RTLS security, compliance, and data privacy best practices.

  • Relevant RTLS, RFID, or networking certifications are a plus.
