Job description

SUMMARY: The Quality Specialist I is responsible for ensuring compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company procedures. This role involves conducting inspections, audits, and quality checks on aircraft components, systems, and maintenance processes to ensure they meet the required safety and quality standards.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Organize and conduct routine internal audits of maintenance procedures, tooling, and equipment to ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of quality control systems and processes, recommending improvements where necessary.
  • Assist in the preparation and execution of external audits conducted by regulatory bodies or customers.
  • Follow up on corrective actions to ensure they are effectively addressing the root causes of non-conformances.
  • Collect, analyze, and report quality-related data to support continuous improvement initiatives and enhance product and service quality.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of inspections, audits, and corrective actions.
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects aimed at enhancing quality, efficiency, and safety within the MRO operations.
  • Provide feedback and suggestions to improve quality assurance procedures and processes.
  • Assist in the training of maintenance personnel on quality standards, procedures, and best practices.
  • Provide support to the Quality Manager and other team members in various quality-related tasks and projects.
  • Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Associate’s degree.
    • OR an additional 2 years of specific work experience in lieu of degree.
  • 2+ year of quality assurance work experience with a focus on MRO operations.
  • Familiarity with requirements of FAA regulations, EASA standards, CAAC, C.A.S.E, AS9110/ISO9001, applicable FARs and DFARs.
  • Good analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Programs including executing pivot tables and VLOOKUP functions.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in using inspection tools, gauges, and quality management software.
  • Must be able to travel occasionally.
  • An established history of dependability and punctuality.
  • Willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
  • Foster a positive attitude even in challenging situations.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 4+ years of quality assurance experience in an MRO setting.
  • Familiarity with MyFAA learning management system.
  • Advanced Microsoft excel skills.

OTHER: 

  • The selected applicant will be subject to a background check and drug testing.
