Summary
Responsible for the accurate measurement, recording, and reporting of all Quality Layout, Gauge inspection processes, in-process inspection and NDT processes.
Responsible for the accurate calibration, support of production gaging and compliance to all DMIR requirement per FAA guidance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Comply with all AS/ISO/Internal procedures and work instructions
  • Train team members engaged in Layout inspections, Metrology activities and Purchased Finished materials.
  • Operate CMM
    • Must be able to read CMM reports
    • Mount, install, align, and secure tools, attachments, fixtures, and work pieces on CMM using hand tools and precision measuring instruments
  • Execute and maintain CMM programs in accordance to company procedures
  • Perform NDT processes as required per product type.
  • Perform the functions of certified DMIR per FAA guide lines as required.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, process planning, specifications, etc.
  • Use standard inspection equipment
  • Measure dimensions of finished, and in-process work pieces to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments, templates, and fixtures
  • Identify visual defects and document nonconformances per company procedures
  • Execute and maintain calibration records in accordance per company procedures.
  • Schedule calibrations, create calibration datasheets using technical standards, request quotes, create purchase orders, and review vendor calibration certificates to determine if further actions are required.
  • Must be un-biased in approach to inspection results
  • Ensure 5-S is adhered to properly

  • Experience with Quality Assurance procedures and methods used in aviation is a plus. Experience with piston engine assembly and test operations, is also desired.

Computer/ Technical
  • Knowledge of layout concepts and design equipment using PCDMIS software or alternative
