Job SummaryPPI Quality & Engineering is a global provider of quality assurance, engineering, and inspection services to the energy industry and is strengthening its audit capability with a QA Lead Auditor. In this role, you will plan, perform, and lead quality assurance audits across oil and gas operations, ensuring compliance with international, regulatory, and industry standards. We are currently seeking experienced Lead Auditors who are interested in being considered for future Internal Quality Management System (QMS) audit projects at client facility in Houston/TX You will deliver clear, actionable audit reports, drive corrective and preventive actions, and assess the effectiveness of processes, procedures, and quality management systems. The QA Lead Auditor evaluates supplier and internal performance, maintains accurate audit records, and upholds HS&E requirements while promoting a culture of continuous improvement. This role is well suited for an experienced auditor who brings technical credibility, strong judgment, and a disciplined, value-driven approach to quality excellence.About the role

Role: Lead AuditorLocation: Houston/TXProject Type: ISO 9001 / API Q1 / API Q2 internal auditsStart Date: Ad-hoc audits consiting of 3-4 days per audit. 8-hour work days. Weekend work is uncommon.

  • Proficiently implement process assessments, quality assurance principles, and quality auditing methods
  • Take ownership and work independently to perform quality assurance audits, including both assessment and deep-dive management system audits
  • Deliver high-quality audit reports and corrective action requests
  • Apply established audit methodologies to ensure compliance with international and national standards
  • Assess processes and procedures, work instructions, and manuals associated with a Quality Management System
  • Demonstrate familiarity with best practices in the oil and gas product and service industry
  • Assess conformance with, and effectiveness of, operating practices for satisfaction of the requirements contained in purchase orders, drawings, specifications, operating procedures, and other Quality Management System documents
  • Evaluate overall level of performance in major functional areas, identifying strengths and concerns related to processes/procedures internally, to client, and to client's supplier organizations
  • Perform follow-up activities to verify the completion and effectiveness of corrective actions
  • Maintain appropriate records of audit activity and findings
  • Foster and maintain productive team-oriented relationships through individual and group meetings when necessary
  • Conduct activities in a safe and healthy manner and work in accordance with established HS&E requirements to ensure the protection of employees, the public, and the environment
  • Take actions necessary to stop work when an unsafe condition or action is identified
  • Comply with PPI policies, procedures, and management standards, and ensure adherence with all laws and regulations that apply to the area of responsibility
Do you have what it takes?

To be considered, candidates should have:

  • 2 years expereince
  • Candidate should be experienced with Oil and Gas industry auditing practices.
  • Familiarity / training in basic NDT methods (MPI, VT, LPI, UT, EMI) are beneficial.
  • Familiarity with Standard DS-1 beneficial.
  • Previous work experience as a third party quality inspector (QCS) beneficial, though not required.
  • API Q1 and Q2 knowledge
  • Candidate needs to be located in or around the Houston TX or surrounding areas.
