Job description

Software Quality Assurance Engineer

$90,000-$115,000 Base Salary. Position eligible for additional incentives including bonus, 401(k) match, health and welfare benefits, amazing culture, growth opportunity and more!!

Full Time/Exempt. Hybrid, 3-days onsite/2-days remote in Atlanta (Cumberland/Galleria area).

About the Role

FairSquare is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented QA Engineer whose role extends well beyond finding bugs. You will be a trusted partner in delivery, the person who gives Engineering, Product, and the business confidence that what we ship is ready for our customers. You will contribute to product success through manual and automated testing, requirements analysis, test planning, and defect tracking. You will also build working fluency across all three tiers of our stack โ€” the front-end UI, the middle-tier services and APIs, and the data layer. You will work side by side with Software Engineers, Salesforce Administrators, Product Managers, and business stakeholders to raise overall software quality, surface risk early, and provide a clear, evidence-based read on release readiness at every delivery milestone.

Major Responsibilities
  • Partner with Engineering, Product Management, and external teams to develop, and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases for new features across Salesforce applications and web front ends.
  • Collaborate with Salesforce Admins, Business Analysts, development teams, and other stakeholders to understand requirements, ensure thorough test coverage, and confirm that deliverables meet business needs.
  • Conduct functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing within our Agile SDLC and CI/CD processes.
  • Learn the workflows of our internal Salesforce platforms and external web apps, and verify supporting backend services on AWS
  • Identify, document, and track defects using appropriate tools, and maintain and execute regression suites on an ongoing basis within the CI/CD pipeline.
  • Use AI tools such as Claude and GitHub Copilot to accelerate test authoring, code review, and QA process verification without sacrificing hands-on manual coverage.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in software quality assurance, spanning manual web and back-end API testing with QA best practices.
  • 3+ years testing Salesforce Service Cloud, including web services and REST APIs.
  • Experience using Postman for API testing, exploration, and response validation.
  • Hands-on experience building API and UI test automation frameworks in Playwright with JavaScript or TypeScript.
  • Programming experience in object-oriented or scripting languages, such as JavaScript and Python.
  • Ability to write basic SQL queries and independently prepare test data.
  • Experience with Jira, Confluence, TestRail, Browser Stack, and similar tools.
  • Working knowledge of AWS, including validating Step Functions and Lambda functions as part of end-to-end test coverage.
  • Strong experience in functional, system integration, and end-to-end testing.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain defects and quality risks to engineering and business stakeholders.
  • Willingness to act as the voice of quality for the products you support, advocating for coverage and standards across the team.
Why FairSquare?
  • Positive, energetic, passionate, business casual environment with management who are committed to your success.
  • Weโ€™re committed to fostering talent and providing opportunities for personal and professional growth.
  • Health insurance for you and your family, matching 401K retirement plans, and education stipends.
  • Numerous employee events throughout the year, including our annual traditions such as a Day at the Del Mar Racetrack, Holiday Party, Concerts & Sporting Events and more.
