Job description

Job Title

Under minimal direction of supervisor or subject matter experts, this position is responsible for developing and executing manual functional tests for new or modified applications/systems in collaboration with other cross functional team members.

Job Duties

Models' ethical behavior and executes job responsibilities in accordance with the customer's core values, ethics, and information protection policies.

  • Create, modify and execute manual functional test cases and test plans for applications with high quality as per requirement/functional specifications.
  • Seek requirement clarifications to adequately cover test conditions.
  • Clearly document bugs or defects with relevant information. Collaborate with Dev and other team members in retesting and defect closure.
  • Provide clear and concise status of assigned tasks for test reports covering the results of testing activities.
  • Assist in creating/maintaining test data in test environments to satisfy the test conditions.

Job Specifications (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities)

Required

  • Knowledge of Waterfall and Agile software delivery framework.
  • Proven interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work well within a cross functional team building relationships in order to collaborate and deliver working software.
  • Service-oriented, self-motivated, with keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to multi-task and set priorities.

Preferred

  • Knowledge of Automation or Performance QA tools like QTP, Load Runner.
  • Knowledge of API testing tools like Soap UI.
  • Knowledge of database concepts including creating, modifying and executing SQL queries.
  • Knowledge of Property and Casualty insurance industry.

Relevant Experience

4 or more years of experience in enterprise-level software testing with web-based applications in a large scale, relational database environment, to include 2 or more years' experience in implementing and using a variety of quality assurance methodologies.

Education Requirements

  • High School Diploma | GED (required)
  • Bachelor's Degree OR 3 years relevant experience, OR a combination of college education and relevant experience equivalent to 3 years
