Job description

BRIEF DESCRIPTION
The Associate Quality Assurance Specialist supports the development, implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of Kurita America's Quality Management System (QMS), with a primary focus on ISO 9001 procedure writing, document control, auditing, and quality coordination. This role partners with process owners to draft and maintain controlled procedures, coordinate audit readiness, support internal and external audits, track corrective actions, and help ensure quality system activities are completed, documented, and aligned with customer, regulatory, and internal requirements. The position also supports training, continual improvement, and cross-functional communication to strengthen quality awareness and consistent process execution.
Title: Associate Quality Assurance Specialist
Location: Brooklyn Park, MN
Travel: Up to 10%
Compensation: $28/Hr to $33/Hr
Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate document revision, approval, publication, and archival activities in accordance with document control requirements.
  • Draft, revise, and maintain ISO 9001 quality procedures, work instructions, forms, and related controlled documents.
  • Work with procedure owners to document current practices, clarify responsibilities, define inputs/outputs, and standardize quality system procedures.
  • Support internal audit planning, scheduling, preparation, execution, reporting, and follow-up activities.
  • Support registrar, customer, supplier, and other external audits by coordinating audit schedules, evidence requests, auditee readiness, and response tracking.
  • Support nonconformance system investigations, root cause analysis, corrective action requests, and preventive or improvement actions.
  • Maintain QMS records, audit schedules, procedure lists, training evidence, quality metrics, and other documentation needed to demonstrate compliance.
  • Support management review preparation by gathering data, tracking action items, and organizing meetings.
  • Assist in developing and tracking training related to procedures, quality awareness, audit readiness, and ISO 9001 requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve procedures, audit readiness, and employee understanding of quality requirements.
  • Collaborate across departments to support quality objectives and continuous improvement.

Qualifications
Qualifications:
Education:
  • Associate degree in Quality, Business, Engineering, Technical Writing, Manufacturing, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • ISO 9001 Internal Auditor certification preferred or ability to obtain within one year of employment.

Experience:
  • 0-3 years of experience in quality assurance, quality systems, compliance, auditing, technical documentation, manufacturing, or a related business process support role.
  • Experience drafting procedures, work instructions, forms, audit records, or other controlled documentation preferred.
  • Experience with ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems, internal audits, corrective actions, or document control preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001 quality management principles or ability to learn and apply the standard.
  • Strong written communication skills with the ability to convert process information into clear, usable procedures and work instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, follow-through, and ability to manage multiple documentation and audit-related tasks.
  • Ability to communicate professionally with procedure owners, auditors, leadership, and cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to collect objective evidence, maintain accurate records, and track action items to completion.
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, Outlook, SharePoint

Physical and Mental Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to:
  • Required to sit for extended periods of time and use a computer and standard office equipment.
  • Able to walk through office, warehouse, laboratory, and production environments.Ability to support continuous improvement, problem solving, root cause analysis, and corrective action processes.
