Process Engineer

Position Overview

Shaw Industries is hiring a Process Engineer to provide technicalassistanceto the ATY & Needlepunch department manager, supervisors, associates, and internal customersdaily at Plant SI in Chickamauga, GA. The Process Engineer willbe responsible forprovidingproduction engineering/process control support fortheATY &Needlepunchdepartment.Additionally, this roleis responsible forimprovingprocess reliability, consistency, and documentation.The Process Engineer will also have responsibility inmanaging capital projects, driving TPM initiatives and cost improvements, investigating off-quality situations,monitoringand analyzing departmental performance through reports,feedback,and observations.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Act asa liaisonbetween the Department Manager and department associates by providing effective lines of communication within the department.

  • Monitor all departmental safety, quality, production, processes, and procedures.

  • Ensureall departmental SMS procedures and instructions are followed.

  • Give direction and support to department employees with regard to achieving departmental goals.

  • Coordinate and oversee special departmental projects that contribute to the continued improvementin the area ofsafety, quality, productivity, cost, and efficiency.

  • Establish,maintainand issue process specifications and operating instructions.

  • Assistemployees in resolving any job-related problems or concerns.

  • Attend orConductperiodic departmental meetings.

  • Understandingand useof USF II.

  • Act asdepartmentdriver for the TPM program.

  • Activelyparticipatein SMS, TPM and S.A.F.E. programs.

  • Constantly search for areas to improve theATY &NeedlepunchDepartment.

  • Be available toassistall supervisors with problems that may occur, including but not limited to PI Process, TPM, quality, safety, equipment, and training.

  • Perform other non-quality related duties as directed bydepartment/plant management.

  • Takeactionsto meet site goals forpercent-efficiencyandpercent-waste.

  • Provide support for associates intheATY &NeedlepunchDepartment.

  • Assistinmaintainingall support equipment

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (Engineering discipline preferred) or equivalent
