Tetra Tech has an immediate opening for a full-time Associate Project Engineer. This is a hybrid position (the selected individual must be located in California) that involves office work to be completed from home (80% Remote) and field work to be completed on site (20% Field/Travel). This is a great opportunity to learn the business side of engineering consulting while obtaining hands-on experience on project deliverables. This position is eligible for our full benefits package including but not limited to Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, AD&D, Disability, Flexible Spending Account (FSA), Health Spending Account (HSA), My Flex Time (MFT - paid time off), 401K, and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan. The pay scale for this position is $70,400 to $82,400 annually, based on qualifications and relevant experience.
Your Role:
Under general supervision, the incumbent will assist with the following engineering assignments:
  • Assistance with completing technical analysis of biogas to renewable and solid waste projects in California and the Western United States
  • Assistance with engineering work in all phases of a project from investigation to construction/remediation, including assistance in the preparation of drawings, plans, specifications, reports, bid documents, and certifications
  • Supporting Project Managers on on-going and up-coming projects including schedule and budget tracking
  • Preparation of draft proposals, memorandums, and other technical writing assignments
  • Data entry and data management
  • Proofing preparation and assemblance of engineering and compliance reports
  • Production of excel spreadsheets for project coordination, cost models for proposal efforts, construction cost estimates, and quantity take-offs
  • Assistance with miscellaneous engineering and general office tasks

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, Chemical, Geological, or Environmental Engineering or an allied field
  • 0-4 years of experience or training is preferred
  • Knowledge and use of Microsoft Office
  • Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent listening skills and attention to detail
  • Self-motivated and a strong desire to learn and contribute to the team
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and similar software is preferred
  • Engineer-In-Training is preferred
  • Valid driver's license
