Description
Kaufman Lynn Construction is seeking a Senior Project Controls Engineer to play a key role in driving diverse, large-scale projects across Southeast Florida. With approximately 75% remote flexibility, this position blends autonomy with hands-on involvement at our Delray Beach office and active jobsites. From multifamily and high-rise developments to government, education, healthcare, senior living, cultural, and commercial spaces, you'll lead scheduling and planning efforts that keep projects on track and successful. This is an opportunity to make a direct impact while collaborating with a highly engaged operations team at one of Florida's most respected and fastest-growing general contractors.
Job Summary:
  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules and effective progress tracking systems.
  • Lead and facilitate pull planning sessions to optimize project delivery.
  • Perform delay analyses, explore "what if" scenarios, and prepare Time Impact Analysis (TIA) reports.
  • Collaborate with the operations team to define the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS).
  • Prepare both preliminary and Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) detailed schedules for projects.
  • Generate and distribute variance reports as needed.
  • Coordinate schedule updates with the operations team, clients, and subcontractors.
  • Integrate resource loading into schedules based on procurement plans and awarded subcontracts.
  • Chair biweekly meetings with operations to update schedules and review project progress.
  • Track progress by updating percentage completion and resource costs.
  • Analyze schedules, incorporate change orders, track delays, and create fragnets when necessary.
  • Compile and publish schedule and progress reports, including relevant variance details.
  • Conduct schedule comparisons and baseline variance analyses as required.
  • Visit project sites to monitor and document actual progress.
  • Perform additional project control duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 8 years in construction, including at least 5 years of scheduling experience with a commercial general contractor.
  • Background in multifamily and high-rise construction required.
  • Expert proficiency in Primavera Project Planner (P6), with the ability to independently develop complete schedules.
  • Skilled in preparing Project Logistics Plans.
  • Experienced in conducting meetings with architects and owners to present and review schedules.
  • Able to interpret construction plans and engineering drawings accurately.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Capable of contributing to marketing presentations.
