Inside the Role
Interns will gain knowledge and experience through exciting and real-life learning opportunities. Interns must work in accordance with DTNA's core values of passion, respect, integrity and discipline. Internship positions can be located at various DTNA locations across the US. We are looking for high performing and motivated individuals in various areas within DTNA organizations.
We are seeking a motivated Facilities Maintenance student to support the maintenance and operation of our facility, machine shop, and testing laboratories. This position offers hands-on experience with preventative maintenance programs, machine shop equipment, test equipment calibration and upkeep, facility inspections, vendor coordination, and maintenance documentation. The ideal candidate is eager to apply classroom knowledge in a professional environment while developing valuable technical and project coordination skills.
Candidates should possess maintenance knowledge and some practical experience to independently perform routine preventative maintenance activities with minimal supervision. This includes conducting machine inspections, cleaning equipment, lubricating machinery, completing maintenance checklists, documenting findings, and identifying conditions that require corrective action or escalation. The successful candidate will be expected to work safely, exercise sound judgment, and effectively manage assigned maintenance tasks while maintaining accurate records and adhering to established procedures.

What You Drive at DTNA
  • Perform and document preventative maintenance activities on machine shop equipment, testing equipment, and facility systems to ensure safe and reliable operation.
  • Conduct building, laboratory, and equipment inspections to identify maintenance needs, safety concerns, and operational issues.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspection reports, equipment logs, and work order documentation in Jira.
  • Create, update, and close work orders in Jira and other maintenance tracking systems.
  • Coordinate preventative maintenance schedules and assist with tracking equipment service intervals.
  • Schedule meetings and site visits with external vendors and contractors for specialized maintenance, repairs, and facility improvement projects.
  • Support vendor management activities, including obtaining quotes, coordinating work schedules, and verifying completion of contracted services.
  • Monitor equipment condition and notify management when replacement parts, supplies, or outside services are required.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and workspaces in a clean, organized, and safe condition.
  • Follow all workplace health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with engineering, laboratory, and operations personnel to support facility and equipment readiness.

Knowledge You Should Bring
  • Must be currently enrolled in an Associate's program or higher from an accredited college/university OR have recently graduated within 1 year of the position start date
  • Must be seeking a degree in Facilities Maintenance Technology
  • Maintenance knowledge and practical experience performing routine preventative maintenance activities
  • Solid organizational skills
  • Interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment
