The Medical College of Georgia, Department of Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery at Augusta University is seeking a full-time faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor to serve as a Urogynecologist. We are proud of our tradition of providing excellent care to women suffering from pelvic floor disorders in the Central Savannah River Area and surrounding communities while advancing education and discovery in Women's Health. Our division currently includes one physician, one advanced practice provider with an additional pending position, and a dedicated, well-trained, and motivated staff. This position does not meet the requirements to be on a tenure track.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include direct patient care and teaching medical students and residents in the clinical and surgical evaluation and management of disorders of the urogenital tract and pelvic floor, pelvic organ prolapse, urinary and fecal incontinence, hematuria, pelvic pain while collaborating with other departments in clinical research and projects. Successful candidates will have a proven history of excellent clinical and surgical skills, involvement with clinical research, and strong desire to be involved with resident and medical student teaching.
Required Qualifications
MD degree or equivalent; licensed or eligible for licensure in the State of Georgia; current DEA registration or eligibility to obtain one; board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN) or Urology; board certified or board eligible in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery (FPMRS); completion of, or current enrollment in, an ACGME-accredited fellowship in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery (FPMRS); demonstrated commitment to research, medical education, and academic scholarship in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery. The ideal candidate must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, a commitment to excellent patient care, strong work ethic and must be forward thinking with a team-oriented attitude and proven ability to develop and lead a section.
Assistant Professor - Early level career as a faculty member with appropriate post graduate training.
Associate Professor - Mid level career faculty member with at least five years at rank of Assistant Professor or comparable training, background, and experience.
Professor - Senior level career faculty member with at least five years at the rank of Associate Professor or comparable training, background, and experience.
Required faculty employment qualifications for all USG institutions and all academic ranks within these institutions shall be:
- Consistent with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC)'s requirements for institutional accreditation;
- Evidence of ability as a teacher;
- Evidence of activity as a scholar and ability in all other duties assigned;
- Successful experience (which will necessarily be waived for those just entering the academic profession who meet all other requirements); and,
- Desirable personal qualities judged on the basis of personal interview, complete biographical data, and recommendations.

Preference is for candidates who have demonstrated a commitment to patient safety and quality, educating the next generation of physicians, excellence in patient care, and advancement of knowledge through innovative clinical research.

The Medical College of Georgia (MCG) is one of the nation's largest medical schools by class size, with 304 students per class.
