General Information
  • Direct Supervisor: Director of Preclerkship/Preclinical Curriculum
  • FTE: 100%
  • Appointment Type: Consecutive Term
  • Title/Rank: Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor
  • Primary Location: Tulsa Campus, Schusterman Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma
Primary Responsibilities
  • Provide cadaver-based anatomy instruction, including dissection, in INDT 7012 The Human Form and in laboratory sessions integrated throughout the new Frontier MD Program's preclinical curriculum.
  • Regularly serve as Lead Facilitator and Floor Facilitator for Peer-assisted Learning (PAL) sessions in the Frontier MD Program's preclinical curriculum.
  • As experience and opportunities allow, assume Course Director responsibilities within the Frontier MD Program's preclinical curriculum.
  • Serve as Course Director and Instructor for PAT 7125 Clinical Anatomy within the OU-Tulsa Physician Assistant Program.
  • Oversee and provide guidance to teaching assistants, student interns, and the Anatomy Laboratory Assistant.
  • Represent the Tulsa Campus within the University of Oklahoma Willed Body Program and oversee local program operations.
  • Ensure that the cadaver laboratory operates in compliance with university policies and applicable state and federal laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Preclinical Curriculum to ensure compliance with Liaison Committee on Medical Education, College of Medicine, and School of Community Medicine standards.
  • Serve on committees as assigned at the department, college, and university levels.
  • Participate in scholarly activity.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Preclinical Curriculum, the Associate Dean for Undergraduate Medical Education, or other appropriate university authority.

Qualifications
Qualifications:
  • PhD, MD, DO, or equivalent degree
  • Specialization in cadaver-based gross anatomy
  • Experience teaching cadaver-based gross anatomy

Preferences (Not Required)
  • Experience teaching undergraduate and/or graduate medical education
  • Experience facilitating active-learning sessions
  • Demonstrated educational scholarship and innovation in anatomy or medical education
