Position Description Summary:
The George Washington University Medical Faculty Associates (MFA), an independent non-profit academic clinical practice group affiliated with The George Washington University School of Medicine & Health Sciences, seeks a full-time, academic Palliative Medicine physician for its Division of Geriatrics and Palliative Medicine within the Department of Medicine. Persons with specific interest in leadership in inpatient palliative medicine are encouraged to apply.
This non-tenure-track faculty appointment, expected to start as early as Fall 2025, will be made at a rank (Instructor, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, Professor) and salary commensurate with experience.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
We are seeking a physician to join our clinical and education-focused practice, which also supports research. Leadership opportunities exist for competitive candidates, and numerous educational opportunities are available in undergraduate and graduate medical education.
The physician will join a well-established consultation service, provide clinical supervision to learners at all levels, serve as faculty for an Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME)-accredited Hospice and Palliative Medicine fellowship program, enjoy teaching opportunities throughout the medical system, and maintain an active research program. Our practice includes a robust inpatient palliative medicine consult service serving a tertiary care hospital and community-based inpatient hospice unit.
Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must be board-certified or eligible in Hospice and Palliative Medicine and eligible for licensure in the District of Columbia at the time of appointment. Applicants must also have a record of experience and a demonstrated strong interest in training medical students and graduate medical education learners in palliative medicine.
Advertised Salary:
$190,000 to $210,000
