Description
The Department of Biology in the College of Science, Engineering and Technology invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor of Biology (Molecular/Cell Biology and Biochemistry).
Examples of Duties
- Teaching undergraduate and graduate level biological science courses such as, but not limited to: Molecular/Cell Biology and Biochemistry.
- Advising and mentoring students.
- Conducting research in areas of expertise.
- Developing and maintaining a dynamic, extramurally funded research program that meets the Biology department's research focus.
- Providing service to the department, college, university, community and profession.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Typical Qualifications
- Must have a Ph.D. in one of the following areas: Molecular Biology, Cellular Biology, Biochemistry or a closely related field with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in the field of study to be eligible to teach courses.
- Must provide evidence of effective and innovative teaching of undergraduate or graduate courses.
- Preference will be given to candidates with post-doctoral research experience, research publication records and successful research grants.
