Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to bring avionics test products to market? VIAVI is looking for an Avionics Test Product Line Applications Engineer at our Lenexa, Kansas location. This is a cross-functional role within Product Management that works closely with the engineering and development teams.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Job Responsibilities:

  • Support the product management team by providing technical expertise to customers through presentations, product demonstrations, installation, and field support.
  • Develop application specifications and build prototypes to demonstrate solution feasibility for customer requirements.
  • Validate that product applications meet defined specifications before release.
  • Author application notes, user documentation, and hardware/software defect reports.
  • Troubleshoot customer issues as second-level support, coordinating resolution with engineering teams.
  • Respond to customer technical inquiries via phone and email in a timely manner.

Pre-Requisites / Skills / Experience Requirements:

Required experience:

  • Military, air transport, general aviation, or MRO avionics maintenance or engineering background.
  • Working knowledge of avionics systems including communications, navigation, fuel, and RF.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to author and edit technical documentation and present technical data.

Desired experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical or RF engineering, or a technical associate degree. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Experience with IFF systems. Familiarity with aircraft fuel quantity systems.
