WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR

As the Associate Product Manager, you are responsible for supporting the many aspects of the product team’s cross-departmental tasks.  You are a key contributor to the process of bringing our products to market and the coordinator of information and data across systems and cross-functional areas. 

WHAT WE OFFER

We estimate the salary range for this position to be between $70,000 to 83,000 annually, dependent on the experience level of the candidate. Additionally, we offer extended health and dental benefits, Group RSP with employer matching, a generous bank of wellness days, and industry perks. The final agreed upon salary may vary based on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Product Knowledge & Data 

  • Product Expertise - Build a strong working knowledge of Mustang Survival products, technologies, and end-use applications. Actively seek to understand “why” behind product decisions so as to support marketing and sales through clear, accurate, and compelling messaging 

  • Data Management - Act as a key owner of product data within the system, ensuring completeness, consistency, accuracy, and readiness across all business channels. Drive improvements in data quality and workflows 

Line Plan Management 

  • Support in market research and competitor analysis for future and existing products 

  • Support in the preparation of product presentations for gate reviews and other key touchpoints (sales meetings, brief-ins, etc.) that deliver critical information to internal stakeholders 

  • Aid in creating processes to: 

  • Support in information gathering, planning and execution of embellishment requests 

  • Support in developing SMU, collab, and future white label programs to ensure cross functional teams are aware of the timeline and tasks 

  • For above focus areas, initiate or review incoming ECN’s (Engineering Change Notice) to aid with product sustainment 

  • Manage seasonal updates/changes to Embellishment Workbook 

Administration and Coordination 

  • Coordinate with Sales and Marketing teams for SMS volumes and processing 

  • Coordinate packaging details and manuals for new products across cross functional teams 

  • Support the product team in creating and managing products in the system including new model setup 

  • Work with the team to coordinate stage gate meeting presentations for product and design – create and/or distributing templates for the presentations and consolidating presentations to ensure consistency 

  • Record notes, and produce and circulate summarized notes, from stage gate meetings to meeting invitees and identified key contacts 

  • Manage the Master Line Plan document to ensure accuracy across seasons, make documented amendments as required, and communicate changes across cross functional team leads 

  • 2-3 years in the outdoor recreation industry in retail or wholesale sales or product or brand management  

  • Post secondary education in business or any applicable combination of education plus experience  

  • Strong passion for the activities we make products for  

  • Intelligent, creative, inspired, well organized and detail-oriented  

  • Willing and able to travel for tradeshows, relationship building, research and events  

  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills  

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing  

  • Ability to manage project deliverables on time/budget  

  • Ability to adapt and work well in a continuously changing environment. 

  • Familiarity with Netsuite is an asset
