Job Description Summary:

Leads the planning, execution, governance, and financial control of site-level CAPEX projects for CPS Puerto Rico, excluding strategic capital projects. The role ensures projects are delivered safely, on time, within approved scope and budget, and in compliance with Company standards, regulatory requirements, environmental expectations, and internal controls. The Engineer Manager coordinates internal stakeholders, contractors, service providers, and technical resources to support reliable project execution, commissioning, documentation, asset capitalization, and monthly/quarterly/year-end CAPEX reporting.

What You'll Do for Us

  • Lead the execution of CPS Puerto Rico non-strategic CAPEX projects from concept refinement through design, procurement, construction, commissioning, startup, closeout, and asset capitalization.

  • Develop and maintain project scopes, schedules, budgets, milestones, deliverables, resource plans, permitting requirements, and execution plans to ensure approved project objectives are met.

  • Support the site CAPEX justification and annual capital planning process by consolidating needs, organizing reviews, preparing estimates, and aligning priorities with management direction and approved business plans.

  • Manage annual CAPEX spend against the business plan, including forecasting, carryover reporting, monthly/quarterly/year-end financial updates, risk identification, and mitigation actions.

  • Coordinate internal engineering resources, plant stakeholders, project owners, procurement, finance, operations, quality, safety, environmental, contractors, and service providers to ensure project requirements are understood and executed effectively.

  • Lead contractor and service provider selection activities for CAPEX execution, including scope definition, bidding support, bid analysis, contract coordination, performance expectations, and assignment of project responsibilities.

  • Ensure contractors and service providers perform work in accordance with Company safety, environmental, quality, legal, regulatory, and site requirements, with focus on minimizing environmental impacts and protecting people, assets, and operations.

  • Establish and maintain project reporting, governance routines, documentation practices, meeting cadence, action tracking, project timelines, and management updates to communicate progress, risks, issues, and decisions.

  • Coordinate and evaluate project changes from original scope, specifications, budget, or schedule, ensuring impacts are reviewed, approved, documented, and communicated to stakeholders.

  • Support technical design reviews, equipment evaluations, installation readiness, commissioning, startup, quality assurance testing, and handover to operations for site-level capital projects.

  • Develop, maintain, and control technical and project documentation, including engineering drawings, specifications, central project files, critical system drawings, and drafting resource administration.

  • Ensure new project designs and evaluations consider applicable design codes, Company standards, environmental aspects, legal and corporate requirements, efficiency indicators, and cost/benefit expectations.

  • Maintain awareness of environmental aspects related to capital projects, including air emissions, water consumption, and energy use, and incorporate relevant criteria into contractor evaluation and project execution processes.

  • Train new associates and contractors on applicable internal procedures, project execution expectations, documentation requirements, and site practices as appropriate.

  • Comply with all applicable internal control requirements for the Engineering function and CPS Puerto Rico operations.

Qualification & Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Civil, Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical or Food Engineering or related field isrequired.

  • 7+ years of experience in the position or similar as:

  • Management of multi-disciplinary technical / engineering teams.
  • Major Capital Projects (specification, design, installation, commissioning, cost control, purchasing, contract, planning, risk analysis & avoidance).
  • Fluent in English and Spanish

Desirable Technical Skills:

  • SAP-S4 knowledge.

  • Experience in the Beverage Industry is highly preferred.

  • Proficiency in commissioning and startup of process equipment.

  • Ability to work with engineers, external vendors, operators and management to manage projects and assignments is essential.

  • Establish priorities and lead processes for planning technical work and monitoring progress to achieve desired outcomes.

  • Effective written and oral communication with cross-functional teams and management

  • Effectively communicates and influences non-technical senior managers.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a diverse community

  • Effective written and oral communication in both English and Spanish

  • Influence buy-in for strategic project plan from stakeholders and key contributors.

  • Ability to rapidly study, analyze, and apply new technologies. Ability and willingness to learn from experience and external benchmarking.

  • Ability to identify technical performance gaps, use data mining and analytical tools to characterize the business impact and identify root causes, and use engineering skills and tools to develop and implement solutions to complex problems with significant impact. Knowledge of and the ability to understand, design, apply and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems.
