Job Description:

Sun Life is seeking talented professionals at all experience levels to join our dynamic Corporate IT team and help deliver cutting-edge enterprise applications that improve lives for our clients worldwide.

As a ServiceNow Associate Software Engineer in our Corporate IT division, you'll be at the heart of designing, developing, and supporting business-critical applications that power Sun Life's operations. You'll collaborate with experienced teams in an Agile environment to build scalable, reliable solutions that matter.

This role combines hands-on development with operational excellence.

What will you do?

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise software applications and integration solutions
  • Translate business and technical requirements into effective solution designs
  • Write, maintain, and optimize code, scripts, and automation tools
  • Partner with cross-functional teams-engineers, product owners, and business stakeholders-to deliver real results
  • Participate fully in Agile ceremonies: sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives
  • Provide hands-on application support, resolving incidents and troubleshooting issues
  • Contribute to clear system and project documentation
  • Champion security, compliance, and change management best practices

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Recent graduates with 0-2 years of internship/co-op experience, OR professionals with 3-5 years of software development or application support experience

Technical Skills

  • Hands-on programming experience with languages like JavaScript, Python, or similar
  • Solid understanding of SQL and relational databases
  • Experience with scripting and automation (PowerShell, shell scripting) -
  • Knowledge of software development lifecycle concepts (Agile, DevOps)
  • Bonus: APIs, integrations, enterprise systems, CI/CD pipelines, cloud platforms, or modern DevOps practices
