For over seven decades investor-owned utilities, municipalities, cooperatives, and others have entrusted their electrical construction and maintenance needs to Davis H. Elliot Company, Inc. (Elliot).
Elliot is a full-service electrical contractor specializing in overhead and underground distribution, transmission, substations, engineering, lighting, traffic signaling, utility locating and industrial/commercial services.
Job Description
  • Walk right of ways various terrain in potentially adverse conditions to patrol distribution line damage
  • Carry and handle telescopic measuring stick and switching stick that weigh approximately 11 lbs.
  • May be required to use a brush axe or machete to clear brush for walking and staking during survey work
  • Demonstrate ability to work with others in supplying information and seeking assistance as necessary
  • Applies technical knowledge and experience in resolving problems encountered in assigned work
  • Uses initiative in looking for opportunities to improve the process and increase job knowledge/technical skills
  • Communicates effectively both orally and in writing with other employees and customers
  • Assists in the preparation of technical reports and papers.
  • Develops decision making skills based on job knowledge.

Qualifications
  • Associate Degree in Electrical/Electronic/Mechanical Engineering Technology plus 4-6 years of related utility industry work experience
  • Possess knowledge of equipment and material used in distribution utility construction
  • Possess basic knowledge of systems and business processes.
  • Possess moderate computer literacy skills.
  • Perform work activities assigned with minimal coaching from more experienced employees.
  • Valid Driver's License and Safe Driving Record required.
