Job description

Position Summary

The Associate Portfolio Manager, Trading works with Wealth Advisors, Associates, and the Investment Team to monitor and invest client accounts. This position executes stock, mutual fund and fixed income trades to invest cash, raise cash, and rebalance accounts according to established guidelines. This position also monitors accounts, performs periodic compliance reviews and recommends or takes corrective actions when appropriate.Duties & ResponsibilitiesLevel I - operates as an entry level hire, in direct supervision of manager, to complete monitor portfolios and complete trade/rebalance tasksExecute stock and mutual fund trades as requested by advisors.Rebalance client accounts to predefined target allocations.Monitor accounts to insure that they are invested according to established guidelines and account specific policies and restrictions.Maintain and update client specific restrictions and investment guidelines in trading systems.Generate trade proposals and recommendations as requested by advisors.Perform periodic reviews of accounts for compliance purposes.Level II - manages more complex portfolios that have multiple accounts, non-standard holdings or tax issues. Requires a fairly deep understanding of underlying investments to make custom recommendations.Work directly with advisors to generate and execute customized proposals for client's unique situations incorporating legacy holdings, tax minimization and asset location across multiple accounts.Monitor and review trades generated across all client accounts. Compile trades and execute in appropriate market venue seeking best execution.Manage trading of large orders, illiquid assets or other uncommon securitiesImplement model changes across multiple client accountsAssist in the generation of performance reporting, market commentary, and presentation materials.Act as interface between trading functions and other core WM teams to problem solve and plan as neededComplete investment analysis, under supervision of Investment PM, such as equity, fixed income or mutual fund researchEducation & Experience

Knowledge of:

Ability to:

  • Work independently and perform duties under frequent time pressures
  • Adhere to established policies and procedures including maintaining confidentiality of customer account information
  • Minimize trade errors and account level non-compliance
  • Maintain timeliness of response to trade requests

Education and Training:

  • Requires Bachelor's degree.
  • Requires proficiency in Microsoft Office, experience with Microsoft Excel including use of Pivot Tables, Macros, and VBA.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary offered is based on factors, including but not limited to, the job duties, required qualifications and relevant experience, and local market trends. The role may be eligible for bonus or incentives based on company and individual performance.

(Base Pay Range: $55,000 -$73,000/yr)
