Adjunct Instructor, Social Sciences

Job Description:

The Department of Social Sciences at Cameron University seeks qualified applicants to teach courses in History, Political Science, Criminal Justice and Sociology on a part-time (adjunct) basis. Most adjuncts teach general introductory level courses, though other assignments are occasionally available. Classes are offered in Lawton, Duncan, online and via Zoom. Specifically, the department is most interested in candidates with availability to teach in-person in Lawton, Duncan, or synchronous via Zoom.

This posting is to create a pool of interested applicants from which the department may draw as sections become open at any point during the academic year. This posting may or may not result in hiring, dependent on our current needs, but we will keep applications on file.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Adjuncts holding this position may teach a maximum of 9 credit hours a semester. Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

18 graduate hours in History, Political Science, Criminal Justice, or Sociology.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

A Master’s degree or a Doctorate in History, Political Science, Sociology, or Criminal Justice, and experience teaching at the college level.

SALARY:  

Commensurate with experience and qualifications.
