The ETL Application Engineer Senior works with customers, architects, and partners to implement solutions with Informatica workflows and mappings in order to solve mission critical business challenges. The role requires execution in code analysis, design, testing, development, and performance tuning as part of Agile / Scrum Develop Team. This role will build and maintain workflows for multiple systems and must be capable of understanding business requirements, working with end users, and developing and deploying integrations.

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Debugs complex code and resolves defects
  • Interprets, identifies, and solves unique and meaningful problems
  • Development of code and procedures affecting hundreds of daily users
  • Leads technical contribution to requirements / story development conversations
  • Ensures thorough technical grooming
  • Communicates complex findings in a structured and clear manner to a non-technical audience (written and verbal) including communication to leadership
  • Follows best practices and standards, identifies gaps and suggests changes
  • Responsible for understanding environmental constraints and planning to mitigate
  • Leads design around performance testing and can performance tune complex environments
  • Works respectfully with all team members, both OneAmerica colleagues and vendor partner team members
  • Emphasis on evaluating that the requirements are solid from the ETL coding perspective
  • Understands the system(s) ETL setup, and the Product Owner's / Sponsor's expectations for ETL
  • Provides estimates on ETL effort at any point required, and demonstrates a track record of accuracy
  • Leads analysis and profiling of data to identify patterns
  • Responsible for the creation of expert ETL code that aligns with the overall Sprint Plan; Development and enhancement of Informatica workflows and mappings as per the business requirements
  • Responsible for creating and/or editing ETL procedures
  • Intermediate level expertise in advanced database and reporting tools to analyze and interpret data in order to effectively define system requirements or solve business problems
  • Works with Enterprise and Solution Architecture team leads to review data pipeline designs and data development best practices
  • Demonstrates expertise in a variety of the data warehouse concepts, practices, and procedures
  • Bridge, integrate, and extract meaning from different sources of business data - Product and 3rd Party feeds
  • Represents the ETL community on various governance committees
  • Understands different databases and how to efficiently join data across systems
  • Provides recommendations for overall enterprise data architecture
  • Synthesize data and strategy to provide clear concise recommendations to the product teams

Required Education/Certifications

  • Bachelors Degree
  • 5+ years in an Application Engineering field related to data integration
  • Experience in Informatica PowerCenter (or comparable tool) developing ETL mappings
  • Expert knowledge of software development methodology
  • Superb communication and coaching skills with the ability to connect with members of the development teams

Recommended Education/Certifications

  • Relevant Certifications a plus

Salary Band: 6C

This selected candidate will be expected to work hybrid in Indianapolis, IN. The candidate will also be expected to physically return to the office in CA, IN or ME as business needs dictate or for team building and collaboration.
