Job description

Location:  United States - Golden Valley, MN

Hours: Monday -  Thursday 

Pay: $67,500 - $101,200

GENERAL RESPONISIBILITIES:  

  • Manage the production planning responsibilities for designated assembly lines.
  • Monitor production plan and make necessary adjustments.
  • Responsible for maintaining a specified assembly schedule determined by a monthly SIOP process.
  • Create and release production orders to assembly lines and provide necessary documents 
  • Support assembly lines in all production planning areas.
  • Support and align with internal and external customers.
  • Work cross-functionally with Production Planning, Supply Chain, Material Handling, Assembly, Manufacturing and Engineering departments.
  • Effectively communicate changes to the plan to affected departments.
  • Escalate customer and sales requests that fall outside the agreed upon SIOP parameters 
  • Ability to learn and perform reporting functions
  • All other duties as assigned 

 REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION: 

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, logistics, engineering or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Minimum 2-4 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Thorough knowledge of production, supply chain, inventory, and planning principles, practices, nomenclature, and procedures, sales order to revenue realization process, and integrated enterprise resource management systems preferred.
  • Experience working with manufacturing-based technology, processes and principles, including Lean manufacturing and project management practices, and understanding of influences on costs, gross margin, quality, and delivery preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and an enterprise resource planning (ERP)/material resource planning system (MRP), SAP preferred.
  • Strong in MRP Knowledge and Production Planning and/or Material Control background.
  • A good understanding of Production/Assembly/Materials Control/Marketing/Customer Service, and Engineering and how they interface with one another. 
  • Knowledge of production orders, sales orders.  
  • Knowledge of S&OP and basic financial impacts.

REQUIRED INTERPERSONAL & BEHAVIORAL SKILLS:  

  • Ability to problem-solve.
  • The ability to concentrate on tasks, make decisions and work calmly and effectively in a high-pressure, deadline oriented environment.
  • Be able to prioritize work daily, but be flexible to change as priorities dictate changes. 
  • Willingness to be flexible with time and adjust to a changing work environment.
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships, both internally and externally, while maintaining a client service orientation.
  • Ability to use sound judgment and discretion in dealing with highly confidential information.
  • Consistent attendance.
  • Ability to take direction and accept supervision.
  • Ability to lead and mentor other associates.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, organize and accurately prioritize work, be detail-oriented, understand when urgency is required and use good judgment in varied situations.

REQUIRED PHYSICAL DEMANDS: 

  • Must regularly lift and/or moved up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move 50 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
  • Regularly required to stand, use hands to grip, handle or feel objects, tools or controls and reach with hands and arms
  • Frequently required to walk, talk and hear
  • The employee must be able to obtain and maintain a valid license to operate fork lifts of various types.

ENVIRONMENTAL EXPOSURES: 

  • Routinely and regularly works near moving mechanical parts
  • Occasionally exposed to non-toxic fumes
  • Moderate noise level

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Must be able to wear safety glasses, safety shoes at all times.

Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. Tennant Co. reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualifications of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.  The salary range reflects both entry into the role and future growth. Total Compensation = Base Salary + Benefits
