Physiatrist (Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Physician)

The Southern Arizona VA Health Care System is seeking a highly qualified Physiatrist (Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Physician) to join the Geriatrics and Extended Care (GEC) Service Line. This position plays a key role in delivering high-quality, patient-centered rehabilitative care to Veterans across inpatient and outpatient settings. The physician will provide inpatient physiatry consultation services and lead clinical care within the Amputee Clinic, supporting a complex and medically diverse Veteran population. The position reports directly to the Associate Chief of Staff (ACOS) for Geriatrics and Extended Care.

The following is a list of duties but is not limited to the following:

• Provide inpatient rehabilitation consultations for Veterans admitted to acute care and Community Living Center settings
• Evaluate and manage patients with functional impairments, mobility limitations, and complex rehabilitation needs
• Deliver comprehensive care in the Amputee Clinic, including:
  • Pre- and post-amputation management o Prosthetic evaluation and optimization
  • Coordination with interdisciplinary teams (prosthetics, therapy, nursing)
  • Develop individualized rehabilitation plans to improve functional outcomes and quality of life
  • Collaborate closely with GEC, hospitalists, surgeons, therapists, and interdisciplinary teams
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and program development within GEC

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
