Adecco is assisting a local client in Torrington, CT in hiring a Shipping and Receiving Associate. Work in a fast-paced, innovative environment. This is a day shift position with a starting pay rate of $22.00 per hour. If you meet the requirements below, Apply Now!

Position Summary:

Confirms contents of all outgoing shipments are accurate according to the Sales Order and Packing Slip details. Packages orders to ensure no damage occurs during transit. Processes orders through directed carrier. Enters all international customs documentation information accurately to ensure there are no clearance issues. Reviews all printed labels and international documentation for accuracy. Handles receiving responsibilities for incoming goods. Confirms contents of all incoming shipments are accurate according to the Purchase Order and Packing Slip details. Contacts vendors about discrepancies as needed.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Packages and ships using carrier services UPS, FedEx, and DHL

  • Prepares domestic and international documents as needed

  • Schedules outgoing shipments with carriers

  • Keeps current on all state, federal, and international shipping regulations to ensure compliance

  • Manages communications to clear shipment exception details

  • Works closely with Quality to ensure incoming materials meet requirements for production

  • Evaluates current processes and offers recommendations for improvement and streamlining on an ongoing basis

  • Develops and keeps good relationships with vendors

  • Receives incoming deliveries accurately and efficiently

  • Handles RMA receiving and documents accurately in CRM

  • Maintains proper levels of all shipping, office, and kitchen supplies

  • Creates and submits purchase orders for shipping, office, and kitchen supplies

  • Creates return labels for Customer Service as needed

  • Provides accurate weights and dimensions for orders are requested by Sales and Customer Service

  • Manages needs of the marketing team by coordinating domestic and international shipments with preferred carriers or freight forwarders

  • Maintains a safe, clean, and orderly working environment

  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience with domestic and international shipping and receiving

  • MRP system experience, preferably CRM and/or Dynamics 365 Business Central

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Strong negotiation and communication skills

  • Sufficient in Microsoft Office

  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills

  • Ability to multi-task and take initiative

  • Self-starter with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team

  • Knowledge of LEAN manufacturing preferred

  • Knowledge of international shipping processes required

  • Ability to life up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time
