AWT has the following position open in our Grand Blanc, Michigan location:
The schedule for this position is Monday-Friday, Hours are 8 am - 5 pm. Additional days and hours may be necessary due to production requirements.
Required Job Duties
Sales / Customer Support
Technical resource for customer facing interactions
Accurate product costing (estimating) and meeting quote TAT goals
Participate with Sales team in customer interactions, support customer PTR's and trouble-shooting as needed
Identify and propose customer cost savings and new product opportunities
Develop and submit supplier initiated change requests "SCR". Manage change control process until SCR is approved and reassigned to the mfg. engineer
Fulfill sample production and PTR requests from sales to support growth efforts
Technical / R & D Resource
Technical reviews for application related topics e.g., understanding specifications, customer requirements, material recommendations, construction methods
Product launch and production support e.g.; Part setup and standards, BOM/MOM,
PTR support, tooling and plates, re-tools, work instructions, troubleshooting.
Develop internal costs savings ideas from: Equipment, new materials, new construction or design, new technological drivers, industry benchmarks
Propose product improvement opportunities while maintaining or increasing performance (e.g., adhesive, lacquers, ink technology)
Growth Support
Maintain status tracking for key customer SCR initiatives
Key customer interface for technical issues including on site visits to the customer
Provide cost estimates for quote opportunities and contract extensions
Evaluate and support implementation of new production equipment
New product development/application, hardware and systems
Process Leadership
Process lead for selected Engineering team processes with responsibility for process execution, process improvements and metrics reporting
Responsibilities
§Oversee or execute engineering standard work through product lifecycle: product costing (estimating), launch, re-launch, standard setting, VAVE, SCR/ECR processing, quality issue resolution, scrap reduction, department 5S, quality system LPAs.
§Technical support: Serve as a key technical resource internally and externally. Major areas of support include material recommendation, product design, costing, product usage, production troubleshooting, customer issue resolution. Interact with customers when necessary. On-site technical support at the customer when needed.
§Product or Process R&D projects: Typical projects include raw material investigation and qualification, cost savings initiatives, in-sourcing, new product development, product line optimization, process improvement, CAPEX evaluation/implementation. Support or lead assigned projects.
