The RoleOur DevOps Engineers play a critical role in Kablamo's cross-functional Agile product development teams. They are responsible for designing and building best-practice, secure and automated cloud environments, which are capable of scaling to handle millions of users and almost limitless amounts of data. Kablamo is proud to be one of the leading partners for both AWS and Google, and our DevOps Engineers are all incredibly passionate about these cloud and their ecosystems.As part of our DevOps team, you will join a very strong technical community of engineers with deep experience working across different industries and use cases. You will have a chance to work on unique and exciting projects, such as, for example, the implementation of a world-leading wildfire mitigation (data/AI) platform for Canadian utilities or help develop new data/AI or software products for our clients. Responsibilities Contribute to the design, implementation, and maintenance of our AWS or GCP infrastructure Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate the build, test, and deployment processes Be proactive in anticipating production issues. Assess risks and mitigate against these, planning for contingencies and counter-measures in advance Use automation tools to solve problems, writing and developing code to automate processes, such as analyzing logs and testing production environments Monitor, optimize, and troubleshoot data infrastructure and pipelines to ensure high availability, performance, and reliability Implement security best practices to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with data governance and privacy regulations Develop and maintain documentation for infrastructure, processes, and procedures Identify tasks and processes that get stuck or move slowly and support the team in pushing them through Helping prepare activities for production release Participate in project stand-ups by effectively communicating status and impediments to progress Attend iteration planning sessions and participate in the sizing of the testing effort required to complete stories, ensuring external dependencies are considered Work closely and communicate effectively with the development team and product stakeholders to ensure project outcomes adhere to agreed quality standards Required Skills and Experience Extensive cloud experience with AWS (VPC, EC2, Route53, IAM, STS, RDS, API GW) with a strong emphasis on security and well-architected solutions. GCP experience is also desirable.
