Nestled just outside the Great Smoky Mountains, around 30 miles North of Knoxville, in a small, quaint, beautiful town, called Andersonville, sits Norris Academy, a residential treatment facility that offers comprehensive, holistic services to youth with autism spectrum disorders, and/or other neurodevelopmental diagnosis.
Compensation Range: Starting at $92,000 annual salary (compensation is dependent on education, licenses, and experience).

What you will do: As a Director of Nursing, you will provide comprehensive clinical leadership by directing all nursing and medical services, including medication administration, health assessments, chronic care management, and emergency response, while ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations. Oversee daily Health Services operations in a 24-hour facility, including budgeting, inventory, vendor management, licensing standards, audits, HIPAA compliance, and coordination of off-site medical care. Leads recruitment, supervision, and development of clinical staff to promote accountability and professional practice. Ensures the safety and welfare of students and staff through infection control oversight, quality improvement initiatives, incident review, and emergency preparedness planning.
To be considered you should: Have a Bachelor's degree in related health care field, possess a current Tennessee Registered Nursing license and have 5-8 years of progressive nursing leadership experience.
This is a salaried position requiring at least 40 hours per week. The set work schedule, which serves the youth best, will be set by the Program Director.
Requirements
  • Be at least 21 years of age
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Tennessee required. Nurse Practitioner license is preferred.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) strongly preferred.
  • Minimum 5-8 years of progressive nursing leadership experience.
  • Experience in residential treatment, behavioral health, juvenile justice, or correctional healthcare preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance, medication management, and adolescent health.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prepare detailed reports and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Clean driving record
