FULL TIME RESEARCH ASSOCIATE
New York University Tandon School of Engineering
Biomechatronics and Intelligent Robotics Lab led by Prof. Hao Su (http://haosu-robotics.github.io) at NYU Tandon School of Engineering is seeking to hire a Full time Research Associate to work on mechatronics design, control, and reinforcement learning for wearable robots, surgical robots, image-guided intervention, and humanoid robots.

The Department of Biomedical Engineering department at NYU Tandon focuses on connecting engineering and technology with medicine. Therefore, many groups have a substantial translational component in their research. Strong connections with world-class faculty at the NYU Grossman School of Medicine and the College of Dentistry offer unparalleled opportunities for research across boundaries through interdisciplinary collaborations. The Biomechatronics and Intelligent Robotics Lab conducts translational research, publishes high-caliber papers, and offers entrepreneurship opportunities. Our work was published in IEEE Transactions on Robotics, Nature, Nature Machine Intelligence, Science Robotics.
Expectations
Candidates will be responsible for mechatronics design of robots, or control and reinforcement learning for robotics. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated background (as exemplified with a publication record) in one of the following areas, soft robots, legged robots, mechanism design and machine design, actuator design, electric motors, motor controller, embedded system, electronics, firmware, biomechanics, IMU sensors, Nvidia Isaac Gym, Simulator.
Salary range
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary for this position is $48,000 - 65,000 depending on the candidate's experience and qualification.
Expected start date and period of employment
Expected start date is immediately. This position is expected to be for at least a 6 moths appointment.
Qualifications
Candidates should have a Bachelors or Masters Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Biomedical Engineering, or Computer Science or a related field. Candidates will be required to present eligibility to work in the United States.
