Network Engineer

POSITION OVERVIEW:

  • The Technology Services department is responsible for providing and managing the technology. 
  • Seeking qualified candidates for an on-site technical professional who will utilize their experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities to design, implement, manage, monitor, and support an enterprise network environment in support of our travelers, operations, and team members. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, manage, monitor, and support all network systems and solutions. 
  • Implement and support projects, as required, to meet department goals and objectives. 
  • Monitor network health and performance. 
  • Support Business Continuity testing and initiatives. 
  • Provide reports and metrics for performance analysis and growth planning. 
  • Adhere to industry standards and Authority security rules. 
  • Collaborate with IT teams on servers, networking, and cybersecurity requirements. 
  • Provide VMS system training for various departments and entities. 
  • Available after hours / On Call. 
  • Perform related duties as directed.

Education Requirement:

  • B.S in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. OR
  • Associates Degree with Minimum four (4) years of demonstrated experience working in an enterprise infrastructure environment in addition to the time required in the Minimum Qualifications.

Minimum Qualifications:

1) Four (4) or more years of experience with design, implementation, daily management (configuring, updating, securing), monitoring, and support of the following:

  • a) Cisco Routing and Switching

               i) Access, Distribution, and Core
               ii) Virtualization - VTP / VLAN / NFV
               iii) BGP / EIGRP / OSPF
               iv) Cisco ISE
               v) Switch Stacking
               vi) PPOE+
               vii) Optics
               viii) Monitoring - SolarWinds
               ix) Collapsed Core
               x) Catalyst Center

  • b) Network Services

               i) LAN/WAN/W-LAN
               ii) Internet
               iii) VPN
               iv) VoiP

  • c) Telecommunications

               i) Ethernet
               ii) Fiber Optics
               iii) Microwave

2) Required Cisco Certification: CCNA (Network Associate)

3) Three (3) or more years of experience with design, implementation, daily management (configuring, updating, securing), monitoring and support of the following:

  • a) Firewalls: Palo Alto; Fortinet
  • b) Security Services: Security Appliances; MFA & SSO
  • c) Data Center and IDF Services: System Racking; Structured Cabling; KVM

4) Three (3) or more years of experience working in a complex enterprise environment.

Preferred Qualifications (or equivalent):

  • Advanced knowledge of common networking protocols and topologies.
  • Knowledge of common enterprise network monitoring & troubleshooting tools.
  • Knowledge of Data Center Standards, Best Practices, and Solutions.
  • Knowledge of Public Cloud networking Standards, Best Practices, and Solutions.
  • Knowledge of Cybersecurity Standards, Best Practices, and Solutions
  • Preferred Certifications (or equivalent):
  •           o Cisco: CCNP (Network Professional); CCIE (Internetwork Expert)
  •           o PaloAlto: PCNSA (Network Security Admin); PCNSE (Network Security Engineer)
  •           o Cybersecurity: CISSP (Information Sys Sec Prof); CISM (Information Sec Mgr)
  • Experience with ServiceNow ITSM
  • Knowledge of FAA/TSA networking standards and requirements.
