Job description

Building markets for the new trading frontier.
Bringing the future into focus.
Rothera is building the premier prediction market in partnership with Robinhood and Susquehanna International Group.
By empowering traders to take positions on the events that shape our world Rothera's platform harnesses the scale and power of financial markets to produce timely, unique, and effective information discovery for leaders and decision makers to ask and answer their most important questions.
Rothera operates at the frontier, generating market-driven forecasts that turn intuition into insight.
About the role
As Senior Associate, Engineering - Data Engineering & Analytics, you will help to build, model, and scale the foundational data infrastructure powering Rothera. You will touch the full modern data lifecycle, taking hands-on ownership of core ingestion pipelines, engineering production-grade dbt models within Snowflake, and crafting intuitive dashboards in Sigma.
This role is uniquely designed for a driven, highly curious individual who wants to master the modern data stack, and directly shape how our business and leadership leverage data to generate insights.
What you'll do
  • Design, build, and maintain Python-based data ingestion pipelines to reliably extract and load data from APIs, Kafka event streams, and databases into Snowflake.
  • Develop and optimize production-grade data models using dbt to transform raw datasets into clean, structured tables.
  • Partner with internal business, product, and operations stakeholders to understand their data needs, define key metrics, and translate them into robust data models.
  • Ensure data integrity and platform reliability by monitoring pipeline health, setting up validation checks, and actively troubleshooting data quality issues.
  • Maintain thorough data documentation and schemas to ensure clear data definitions and support a transparent, data-driven culture across the company.
What you'll bring
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or a related quantitative discipline.
  • Strong programming proficiency in Python, with the ability to write clean, structured code for data engineering tasks.
  • Solid understanding of SQL and relational database fundamentals, backed by 1-2+ years of hands-on experience with Snowflake. Familiarity with data transformation tools (dbt) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with or an eagerness to learn about event streaming (Kafka) and modern data pipeline architectures.
  • Strong analytical and debugging skills, with the capacity to troubleshoot pipeline issues, analyze data flows, and solve unstructured technical problems.
  • Familiarity with using AI coding assistants (e.g., Claude Code) for script composition, debugging, and navigating unfamiliar frameworks.
Benefits & Compensation:
This position has a base salary of $100,000-$120,000 per year, plus participation in a discretionary annual incentive bonus program.
Rothera is dedicated to advancing the careers and personal wellbeing of our team members. We are continuously exploring ways to support our employees holistically, including a 401(k) plan with employer match, health, vision, and dental insurance for employees and eligible dependents, paid time off, and much more.
