Associate Member information

What is an associate member?

Associate Members are individuals or organizations that hold a non-voting or limited-participation membership status within an organization, institution, or professional association. This role typically allows members to access certain resources, attend events, and participate in some activities, but without the full privileges or responsibilities of regular or full members. Associate membership is often ideal for those seeking to be involved with the organization but do not meet all the criteria for full membership, or for those who prefer a less active role. Benefits and requirements for Associate Members can vary widely depending on the organization's structure and goals.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an associate member, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Associate Member, you generally need a relevant educational background, foundational industry knowledge, and eligibility criteria set by the professional organization. Familiarity with membership management systems and digital collaboration platforms is often expected. Effective communication, networking ability, and a proactive attitude help individuals make the most of membership opportunities. These skills and qualities are important for building professional connections, accessing resources, and advancing within the organization or field.

How does an associate member typically collaborate with other team members within an organization?

As an Associate Member, you are often expected to work closely with more senior colleagues and various departments on collaborative projects. This role usually involves supporting ongoing initiatives, contributing to group discussions, and assisting with research or administrative tasks. Open communication and a willingness to learn from others are highly valued, as you will frequently seek guidance and feedback to develop your professional skills. The team structure often encourages mentorship, helping you build strong networks and grow within the organization.

Job description

Job Description: Sales Associate (Quebec)

About 1Valet

1Valet is a Canadian technology company transforming the way people interact with their buildings. We develop smart building software and integrated hardware solutions that connect property managers, residents, and visitors-creating seamless, secure, and intelligent building experiences.

We're a growing company where every team member plays a pivotal role. Our products are installed in properties across North America, and we're rapidly expanding. Join us as we shape the future of smart buildings.

Role Overview

We are seeking an ambitious, highly relationship-driven Sales Associate to accelerate our ecosystem expansion across key regional territories. The ideal candidate is hungry to learn all aspects of prop-tech sales from cold outreach through to customer relationship management.

In this role, your success relies on a balanced approach that pairs strategic partnership management with proactive market engagement. The absolute core of this position rests on two primary pillars: acquiring and enabling Channel Partners to maximize shared revenue, and deeply nurturing high-level developer and asset manager relationships to surface qualified enterprise opportunities for our senior sales leadership and executive teams, who are in a strong position to close and finalize large-scale agreements.

To feed this ecosystem, uncovering new logos and introducing our solution to untapped markets is essential. You will drive this growth by executing strategic outbound outreach, representing the brand at corporate networking events, and maintaining high baseline touchpoints across territories. This requires strong mobility and the agility to manage your time effectively, whether operating from an office environment or driving opportunities through key in-person meetings. You will act as a highly responsive, informed trusted advisor who serves as the vital bridge between field-level relationship building and executive-level deal execution.

Dominant Core Responsibilities

1. Market Engagement, Networking & Pipeline Development

  • Proactive Outreach: Initiate consultative conversations with Regional Property Managers, Commercial Real Estate Developers, and High-density real estate IT Installers to uncover new logos and build organic project interest. Maintain a high-volume outbound prospecting cadence, including building and maintaining a robust pipeline through proactive cold outreach.
  • Hybrid Account Management: Effectively maintain continuous contact and cultivate deep trust with clients through both virtual channels and selective in-person presentations.
  • Corporate Event Representation: Attend industry trade shows, conferences, and networking events to cultivate new industry contacts, identify market needs, and elevate brand profile.
  • Time Management & Mobility: Maintain standard scheduling discipline to balance remote account management with localized travel for high-priority client interactions.
  • Organic Pipeline Growth: Cultivate, qualify, and expand your own sales pipeline through continuous, structured business development efforts.
  • Consultative Discovery: Conduct thorough discovery with potential clients to understand their long-term operational needs, evaluate their current technology stack, and find hidden workflow inefficiencies.

2. Channel Partner Acquisition, Onboarding & Sales Maximization

  • Partner Recruitment: Actives source, pitch, and bring new Channel Partners-including security integrators and low-voltage contractors-on board to scale market reach.
  • Solution Familiarization: Thoroughly educate and familiarize new partners with the 1VALET product ecosystem to ensure they can confidently articulate its technical and commercial value.
  • Sales Tool Enablement: Equip partners with all corporate sales tools, website assets, case studies, and feature videos to streamline their outreach and maximize sales opportunities.
  • Collaborative Revenue Maximization: Work hand-in-hand with partners to identify shared opportunities, strategize accounts, and maximize mutual sales volume.

3. Strategic Account Management & Executive Deal Pipeline

  • Relationship Nurturing & Expansion: Cultivate, maintain, and deeply strengthen long-term relationships with developers, asset managers, and property management firms.
  • Land & Expand Execution: Execute a strategic portfolio strategy, using initial building wins as a foothold to systematically roll out 1VALET solutions across an asset manager's entire real estate holdings.
  • Enterprise Opportunity Pipeline: Continually map client portfolios to track upcoming builds, multi-phase rollouts, and tech upgrade timelines.
  • Executive Referrals for Closure: Identify and surface high-value opportunities, seamlessly routing them forward to senior sales leadership and company executives who are uniquely positioned to negotiate, close, and finalize major agreements.

Supporting Responsibilities

Solution Positioning & Market Intelligence

  • Competitive Edge Mastery: Develop an in-depth understanding of the 1VALET product set to effectively position our competitive differentiators against legacy hardware vendors.
  • Digital Demos: Conduct high-impact, tailored product demonstrations using website materials and interactive tools over Zoom or in person to educate prospects.
  • Market Tracking: Stay informed about industry trends, competitive services, market dynamics, and technological developments.

Professional Accessibility

  • Extreme Responsiveness: Maintain a functional mobile phone to remain constantly accessible and highly responsive to partners and clients.
  • Territory Mobility: Ensure a reliable means of travel to facilitate regional client visits, partner training sessions, and asset property site assessments.

Job Requirements

  • Experience: 3+ years of product sales, channel enablement, account management, or business development experience in Software, SaaS, B2B, or Proptech.
  • Digital Efficiency: Proven ability to build relationships, command attention, and progress complex accounts entirely through remote channels (Zoom, phone, email).
  • Language: Mandatory bilingual proficiency in both French and English.
  • Mobility: A valid driver's license and a willingness to travel on an as-needed basis to support territory requirements.
  • Core Skills: Elite relationship management, account mapping, professional storytelling, and meticulous organization.
  • Tech Savvy: Heavy asset if you know how to leverage Salesforce to manage pipeline history and workflows.
  • Attributes: Self-motivated, highly collaborative, accountable, and deeply skilled at navigating multi-stakeholder networks. Results-driven with a singular focus on sales outcomes (not just activities), combined with a drive to succeed and close clients.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base Salary: $60,000 per annum.
  • Structure: Performance-driven evolution to commission-based structures.
  • OTE Potential: Special commission programs offering a 2X OTE can increase total remuneration up to $120,000.
  • Career Growth: Limitless growth and clear advancement opportunities within a rapidly expanding technology company.
