Who You Are
As a Senior Associate on this team, you will actively contribute to managing our relationship with carriers and play a key role in ensuring the accurate and efficient handling of our medical benefits. Your ability to communicate with the team proactively and to be solution-oriented will be invaluable in this role. You will actively engage in collaborative problem-solving, working closely with Operations peers and members of Product, Engineering, Customer Support, Legal, and other cross-functional teams. Together, you will identify opportunities for us to invest in improving efficiency and streamlining our processes.

As part of the Medical Benefits team, you will have several different growth paths available to you, assuming you meet/exceed expectations.

In this position, you'll own the day-to-day success of our Medical Benefit program at Justworks, work with our Product and Engineering teams to improve existing systems, and help implement new Benefit offerings.
Your Success Profile
What You Will Work On
  • Perform day-to-day operations for all of our medical offerings
  • Work with insurance carriers to resolve escalated issues - enrollment errors, plan coding issues, and other discrepancies, escalating trends to the Team Lead
  • Collect plan and pricing data from carriers, and work within the carriers' systems to enroll groups and individuals timely
  • Consistent urgency, ownership, and proactive communication with partners and vendors
  • Partner with our Product, Engineering, and Legal teams to improve systems and resolve issues
  • Assist Team Lead with new-hire training and mentoring new members
  • Flag trends and bugs to the Team Lead and Manager, partnering with both to understand the scope and impact of the issue and drive operational efficiencies
  • Identify and remediate problems by developing and updating standard operating procedures
  • Build out and maintain internal benefit resources (help articles, Confluence, training decks, process documentation, etc.)
  • Resolve complex benefit inquiries/issues generated by Customer Success and Sales teams within the agreed upon service level agreements (SLAs)
  • Adhere to vendor and internal partner SLAs
  • Triage incoming issues/inquiries to identify the need for additional intervention and escalate accordingly
  • Maintain vendor relationships by leading conference calls, setting agenda items, and corresponding with account managers
  • Execute regular filing and/or any additional regulatory duties
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 years of work experience in a similar role
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, data-driven environment
  • Experience working cross-functionally
  • Experience with partnership management
  • Experience with Jira and Confluence or similar software
  • Ability to work both independently and as a team
  • Strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to learn new technologies quickly

Preferred:
    • Partnership management experience
    • SQL knowledge

Role specific:
    • Knowledge of Employer Sponsored Benefit Plans strongly preferred

The base wage range for this position based in our New York City Office is targeted at $67,000.00 to $81,500.00 per year.

Actual compensation is based on multiple factors that are unique to each candidate, including and not limited to skill set, level of relevant experience, and specific work location. Salary ranges for positions based in other locations may differ based on the cost of labor in that location.
