About Orthopaedic Associates
Orthopaedic Associates is a fastpaced, patientcentered orthopedic practice committed to delivering exceptional care. Our Medical Assistants play a key role in supporting providers, improving workflow efficiency, and ensuring every patient has a positive experience.
Position Summary
The Medical Assistant supports our orthopedic providers through direct patient care, procedure assistance, documentation, and DME coordination. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a clinical environment, works well under pressure, and values teamwork.
What You'll Do
  • Room patients; obtain vitals, medical history, and medications
  • Assist providers with injections, casting, splinting, and minor procedures
  • Dispense and fit braces and DME per provider order
  • Verify authorizations and ensure signed consents for DME and Visco
  • Maintain clean, stocked exam rooms
  • Document patient encounters in Athena EMR
  • Coordinate imaging, referrals, and followups
  • Participate in training new team members
What We're Looking For
  • Knowledge of orthopedic terminology preferred
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to multitask in a highvolume environment
  • EMR experience - Athena preferred
  • Professional, dependable, patientfocused
  • Commitment to HIPAA and confidentiality
Education & Experience
  • EMT, Athletic Trainer, RMA, Certified Medical Assistant preferred
  • 1+ year clinical or orthopedic experience preferred (not required)
  • BLS/CPR required
Physical & Work Requirements
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting (50+ lbs)
  • Travel to satellite offices as needed (mileage reimbursed)
  • Ability to come early or stay late depending on clinic schedule
