Job Description:

 

L3Harris' Communications and Spectrum Dominance segment is currently seeking a Manufacturing Technician C to join our team. This position will be based at our Salt Lake City, Utah facility.  This person will contribute to the company's success by performing assembly operations on a variety of LRU's (Line Replaceable Units), CCA's (Circuit Card Assemblies) and System products. This role will report directly to the Manufacturing Supervisor and is responsible for successfully assembling or repairing L3Harris products for delivery.

Essential Functions:

  • Completes manufacturing assembly in compliance with quality specifications, providing mentoring to lower level technicians 
  • Experience assembling electro-mechanical products using hand tools (screwdrivers, wrenches, socket drivers, torque drivers, crimping tools)  
  • Implements and provides feedback for operation sequence, and the ability to achieve manufacturing requirements and specifications 
  • Experience soldering electro-mechanical components (CCA, cable build) 
  • Corrects manufacturing failures by making adjustments, or replacing parts or components as directed 
  • Performs continuous improvement projects targeting waste affecting product quality, cost, and schedule or other items of value to the business 
  • Maintain professional standards of performance, demeanor, and judgment at all times as detailed incompany policy and procedure 
  • Assist Manufacturing Process Engineering on trends, root causes and corrective actions 
  • Adherence to L3Harris policies and procedures, including but not limited to, calibration of equipment, ESD (electrostatic discharge), FOD (foreign object debris/damage) and general housekeeping. 
  • Works under limited supervision 
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by Management 

 Qualifications:

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with 2 years of prior related experience. 

 Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Support OT (nights, weekends, extended hours) as needed to meet schedule requirements and business needs 
  • Experience in prototype and first time build processes 
  • Knowledgeable in manufacturing process improvement through adoption of more efficient methods using tools such as, lean, six sigma, just do it, and TOC techniques Demonstrated ability to comprehend schematics, logic drawings, layouts, wire lists, and prints 
  • Able to lift up to 32 lbs. independently 
  • Experience with SAP, SAPME, TeamCenter enterprise resource planning and lifecycle management software
