Job Summary:
Belcan is seeking an experienced Quality / Manufacturing Engineer to support the disposition of nonconforming aerospace hardware in a production environment. This onsite role partners closely with quality, manufacturing, and operations teams to evaluate nonconformances, prepare concession requests and First Article Inspection (FAI) documentation, and determine appropriate product disposition.
The ideal candidate has experience interpreting engineering drawings, dimensional inspection results, and CMM reports, navigating quality management systems, and making sound engineering decisions related to product quality and compliance. This position supports production schedules and customer requirements and may require overtime and occasional weekend coverage.
Job Duties:
* Support the disposition of nonconforming aerospace hardware through Material Review Board (MRB) activities, concession management, and quality engineering support.
* Review engineering drawings, specifications, dimensional inspection data, CMM reports, and inspection results to determine appropriate disposition, including rework, repair, use-as-is, concession, or scrap.
* Prepare and submit concession requests, First Article Inspection (FAI) packages, and supporting quality documentation.
* Analyze historical nonconformance and concession data to support disposition decisions and improve approval outcomes.
* Perform shop floor evaluations of in-process and completed hardware to verify compliance with engineering and quality requirements.
* Partner with manufacturing, quality, and operations teams to investigate nonconformances, perform root cause analysis, and support corrective actions.
* Support continuous improvement initiatives related to quality, manufacturing processes, and product compliance.
* Ensure compliance with customer, regulatory, and AS9100 quality requirements.
Qualifications:
* Associate or Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
* Experience supporting machining, fabrication, or secondary manufacturing operations.
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and inspection documentation.
* Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on problem-solving skills.
* Experience evaluating nonconforming materials and supporting MRB activities.
* Knowledge of quality systems, root cause analysis, corrective actions, lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement methodologies.
* Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
* U.S. Citizenship required due to program and customer requirements.
Preferred Skills:
* Aerospace manufacturing experience.
* AS9100 experience.
* GD&T proficiency and blueprint interpretation.
* Experience reviewing and interpreting CMM reports.
* First Article Inspection (FAI) experience in accordance with AS9102.
* Experience with concession processing, deviation requests, or nonconformance disposition.
Work Schedule:
* This is an onsite position.
* Occasional overtime and weekend coverage are expected based on production schedules, quality investigations, and business needs.
