Job description

Job Title: Assembly Engineer

Location: Madison, AL

Duration: Full-Time

Salary: 80k – 85k

Job Summary:

The Assembly Engineer is responsible for CNC machining, fabrication, mechanical assembly, testing, and installation of custom equipment. The role involves CNC programming and setup, interpreting 2D drawings and 3D CAD models, assembling mechanical systems, troubleshooting, and supporting customer installations. Limited travel of approximately 10–15% is required.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Support projects from fabrication through assembly, testing, inspection, and installation.

Program, set up, and operate CNC milling and drilling machines.

Fabricate and modify components using CNC and manual equipment.

Assemble and troubleshoot mechanical systems and equipment.

Perform functional testing and support customer inspections and commissioning.

Install electrical wiring, piping, tubing, and related components.

Safely operate forklifts and overhead cranes.

Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to maintain quality and safety standards.

Education & Experience:

Associate's degree or technical diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, Machining, or related field preferred.

5–10 years of hands-on assembly, fabrication, and CNC machining experience preferred.

Equivalent technical training and experience will be considered.

Skills and Competences:

Ability to independently program and set up CNC machines using G-code.

Strong CNC milling, drilling, tooling, and machine setup skills.

Experience with manual machining, welding, fabrication, and hand tools.

Ability to read 2D blueprints, 3D CAD models, and GD&T.

Strong mechanical assembly, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
