What is an associate machinist?

An Associate Machinist is an entry-level position in the machining field, responsible for operating and maintaining machine tools to produce precision metal parts and components. They typically work under the supervision of senior machinists, learning how to read blueprints, measure materials, and use equipment such as lathes, mills, and grinders. Associate Machinists play a vital role in manufacturing by ensuring parts are produced accurately and efficiently. This role often serves as a stepping stone to more advanced machinist positions as individuals gain experience and technical skills.

Do associate machinists make a lot of money?

Associate machinists typically earn a median annual salary that is competitive within manufacturing and skilled trades, often ranging from $40,000 to $60,000 depending on experience, location, and industry.
