Job description

We are looking for a working shop foreman who will be directly involved with the pump/equipment repairs in the shop. This individual will be our lead technician in the shop; we are looking for a pump repair expert. In addition, this individual will own/manage shop operations to improve safety, organization, efficiency, and training. 

Job responsibilities:

  • The Machine Shop Foreman will report directly to the Operations Manager and General Manager, and will be directly responsible for managing, organizing, prioritizing, and executing all aspects of the machine shop
  • Organize and oversee the disassembly, inspection, and repair of pumps to ensure quality and efficiency
  • Supervise daily operations within the machine shop, ensuring productivity and adherence to schedules
  • Maintain and manage work orders, service reports, and operational documentation
  • Oversee purchasing activities, including creating and processing purchase orders (POs)
  • Manage the ordering of materials and parts to support ongoing operations
  • Perform and supervise receiving, inspection, and quality checks of all incoming and outgoing materials
  • Coordinate daily scheduling of shop activities in support of overall operations
  • Track all materials entering and leaving the shop to ensure accountability and accuracy
  • Ensure compliance with quality control standards and procedures within the machine shop
  • Conduct and oversee quality checks to maintain high standards of workmanship
  • Collaborate with operations and management to improve workflow, efficiency, and performance

Job Requirements:

  • Proven work experience as a Machine Shop Foreman or similar role
  • 3+ years of using a manual lathe and vertical mill
  • Technical college degree or relevant Trade School certifications.
  • Extensive Knowledge of Vertical Turbine Short Set (Booster Pumps), Deep Set and Submersible Well Pumps
  • Lift 40lbs
  • Operate Forklift and Overhead crane
  • Proficient with typical Microsoft programs, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and capable of learning and utilizing all programs used by the business.
