On‑site Tampa / Secure Facility (No remote work on classified systems)
Clearance Requirement
Active Top Secret (TS) clearance required at start
SCI eligibility preferred (program dependent)
U.S. Citizenship required
Role Overview
The Data Scientist supports mission‑critical government programs by collecting, analyzing, and modeling complex structured and unstructured data in classified environments. This role partners closely with mission stakeholders, engineers, and analysts to generate actionable insights that support national security objectives. The position emphasizes advanced analytics, statistical modeling, and machine learning while operating within strict security and data‑handling constraints. Key Responsibilities
Collect, clean, and analyze large, complex datasets from multiple classified and unclassified sources
Design, develop, and validate predictive and statistical models to identify patterns, trends, and anomalies
Apply machine learning techniques to operational, intelligence, or mission data
Build and maintain data pipelines and automated analytic processes in secure environments
Conduct exploratory data analysis and experimental design to answer mission‑driven questions
Develop data visualizations, dashboards, and briefings for technical and non‑technical stakeholders
Collaborate with data engineers, software engineers, and mission analysts to integrate analytics into operational workflows
Ensure compliance with DoD, IC, and customer data governance, security, and classification standards
Document methodologies, models, and findings in accordance with government reporting requirements Required Qualifications
Active Top Secret (TS) security clearance
Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or related field
Strong working knowledge of:
Statistics and probability
Machine learning and predictive modeling
Data mining and feature engineering
Proficiency in Python and/or R for data analysis and modeling
Experience working with SQL and relational data sources
Ability to communicate complex analytic results clearly to mission and leadership audiences
Experience operating in secure or restricted computing environments Preferred Qualifications
Master’s or PhD in a quantitative discipline
Experience supporting DoD, IC, SOCOM, or federal civilian agencies
Familiarity with:
Cloud or hybrid analytics environments (where permitted)
Big data frameworks (e.g., Spark)
Geospatial, sensor, or intelligence data
Experience building scalable analytic solutions under mission time constraints
Prior work on classified programs or in SCIF environments
Core Skills
