Job description

The Associate Logistics Manager is responsible and has operational oversight for the day-to-day transportation operations under the direction of the Dedicated Logistics Manager, which includes driver management, load planning, and customer service functions to ensure customer satisfaction. The operational functions include revenue generation (headhaul / backhaul), invoicing/billing, safety, equipment maintenance monitoring and driver payroll. This must be accomplished in conjunction with meeting the key performance indicators (KPI's) established by the Dedicated Logistics Manager, Operations Manager and our Customer.
Responsibilities:
Assigning drivers to loads by optimizing load information such as origination, destination, type of freight, number of miles, stops, directions, etc. with driver needs and availability. This is done using the AS400 computer system, Qualcomm satellite, face-to-face communication and telecommunication.
Continually focus on driver training and driver retention by building and maintaining driver relationships through understanding and meeting driver needs. These needs include, but are not limited to home time, payroll, utility, equipment breakdowns, logging violations, equipment issues, etc.
Responsible for account profitability and growth.
Monitor drivers load assignments to achieve customer service expectations.
Monitor drivers safety needs, pre-trip inspections and CSA scores to ensure safe, legal and on-time delivery of freight.
Demonstrates a commitment to safety, with the support of corporate safety department, enforcing compliance with Federal, State and Organizational rules and regulations.
Interface with various departments such as billing, vans, customer service, risk, safety, payroll, and fuel.
Ensures compliance with all policies and procedures while making safety conscious decisions.
Understand and adhere to our customer's dynamics, service expectations, goals, and initiatives as they relate to improving value for the Customer and Werner. This may include but is not limited to establishing positive and professional working relationships with drivers, associates and customers, monitoring performance metrics, participating in customer meetings, and coordinating maintenance of assets and equipment.
Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisory personnel.
The expected starting pay range for this position is $58,562.40 - $78,083.20 annualized salary. Offers determined based on experience, skills, and qualifications.
