By bringing thousands of events and communities onto one platform, Flo creates scale where none previously existed, connecting passionate fans with the sports they love while giving athletes, organizers, and rights holders the tools to reach and engage a global audience.

Flo streams more than 50,000 live events annually across sports, including motorsports, wrestling, hockey, track & field, cheer, jiu-jitsu, NCAA Division II and III athletics, and more. We’re looking for people who are passionate about sports, embody accountability, collaboration, curiosity, positivity, grit, and excellence, and are motivated to help grow and elevate the communities we serve.

THE ROLE:

We seek a skilled and passionate Broadcast Engineer Level I to join our team and support our streaming and broadcast engineering operations. This role will primarily focus on providing Tier 2 support for live events and will also involve key tasks such as testing with league partners, participating in R&D projects, and collaborating with Broadcast Operations, Logistics, Production, and Engineering teams. This role has a knack for streaming technology and enjoys working in a dynamic live environment.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for Tier 2 support on live events

  • Flexible with shift scheduling, work over weekends/nights

  • Assist with Feed Partners testing

  • Work with Logistics and Production for upcoming flo-produced events

  • Collaborate with Stream Operations on improving day to day processes

  • Triaging for escalation and documenting initial root causes in real-time

  • Possible travel for encoder installation & testing

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Basic understanding of streaming protocols (RTMP, SRT, RTP, WebRTC, Zixi)

  • Basic understanding of encoding softwares (vMix, OBS, Tricaster, etc)

  • Basic understanding of encoding hardware (TVU, Videon, Haivision, etc)

  • Basic networking knowledge

  • Basic understanding of analog and digital signal flows

  • Basic understanding on Zixi/ZEN Master

  • Basic understanding on AWS services (Medialive, Mediatailor, MediaStore, S3, EC2)

  • Collaborate with team members on Root Cause Analysis

  • Basic skills in alerting/monitoring tools such as NPAW YouBora, Orion, DataDog, ZEN Master

  • Basic skills in operational tools such as Jira, Confluence, Salesforce, Google Workspace, VoIP, Domo

  • Track/Resolve bugs on encoders/cellular bonding devices

  • Basic understanding of CDNs (Fastly, Cloudflare, Akamai, Cloudfront)

 

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • 1+ years in Remote Production

  • 3+ years in Live Event Support
