Position Summary

The Data Center Associates is responsible for material handling, inventory management, customer service, and the movement of equipment and components within a data center environment. This role also involves the assembly and installation of servers, rack hardware, cabling, and electronic components using hand tools, power tools, measuring devices, and technical documentation. The successful candidate will maintain accurate inventory, support production goals, and ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-3 years of related experience in material handling, warehouse operations, manufacturing, logistics, or data center environments.
  • Experience using computers and warehouse management systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Load and unload inbound and outbound freight from trucks and containers.
  • Inspect incoming and outgoing shipments for correct part numbers, quantities, and product condition.
  • Perform inventory cycle counts and replenish critical spare parts.
  • Process return shipments using warehouse management systems.
  • Move, stage, and transport materials throughout the data center.
  • Position server racks on the data center floor using laser measuring devices with 100% accuracy.
  • Install rack hardware, servers, electronic components, and cabling by following diagrams, schematics, and work instructions.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and measuring devices to assemble and install equipment.
  • Operate material handling equipment, including electric pallet jacks, straddle stackers, and rack movers.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with 5S standards.
  • Frequently push, pull, and lift materials throughout the workday.
  • Provide excellent customer service while working closely with customers and cross-functional teams within the data center.

  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills to make informed decisions that support production goals.
  • Ability to follow technical drawings, diagrams, schematics, and work instructions accurately.
  • Proficiency with computers and warehouse management or inventory systems.
  • Knowledge of electrical safety practices, electrostatic discharge (ESD) hazards, and required handling protocols when working with live electrical and electronic equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility to cross-train and support multiple departments as business needs require.
