Associate Inventory Manager information

What is an associate inventory manager?

Associate Inventory Managers are professionals responsible for supporting the management and oversight of a company's inventory. They help track stock levels, process orders, coordinate with suppliers, and ensure inventory accuracy to minimize shortages or overstock situations. Typically, they work under the supervision of a senior inventory manager and use inventory management systems to maintain records and optimize inventory flow. Their role is crucial in ensuring that products are available when needed while reducing excess inventory costs.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an associate inventory manager, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Associate Inventory Manager, you need strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and experience with inventory control processes, often supported by a degree in supply chain management or a related field. Familiarity with inventory management software (such as SAP or Oracle), barcode/RFID systems, and Excel is typically required. Excellent organizational skills, problem-solving abilities, and effective communication help you coordinate with teams and resolve discrepancies efficiently. These skills ensure accurate stock levels, minimize losses, and support smooth operations in supply chain environments.

What are the common challenges faced by an associate inventory manager and how can they be addressed?

Associate Inventory Managers often encounter challenges such as maintaining accurate stock levels, dealing with supply chain disruptions, and optimizing warehouse space. To address these issues, it's important to implement robust inventory tracking systems, conduct regular audits, and develop strong relationships with suppliers. Additionally, collaborating closely with purchasing, sales, and logistics teams helps to predict demand and prevent both overstock and stockouts, ensuring smooth operations.

Job description

Description:

Are you someone who loves organization, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and knows how to keep things running smoothly behind the scenes?

We’re looking for an Inventory Supervisor who can take ownership of our inventory operations and lead a team that keeps our warehouse and retail spaces fully stocked, accurate, and ready to serve our customers.

If you enjoy solving problems, improving processes, and leading a team — this might be the perfect role for you.

Requirements:

As our Inventory Supervisor, you’ll be the go-to person for keeping everything organized, accurate, and flowing efficiently.

You will:

  • Lead and support a team of 6–8 associates to ensure accuracy, productivity, and efficiency
  • Oversee all inventory processes including receiving, stocking, replenishment, and order fulfillment
  • Keep inventory records clean and accurate through cycle counts and reporting
  • Ensure products are in the right place at the right time — both in the warehouse and on the retail floor
  • Support retail merchandising by making sure displays are stocked, priced, and visually appealing
  • Identify opportunities to reduce shrinkage, improve turnover, and streamline processes
  • Collaborate with purchasing, sales, and delivery teams to keep operations aligned
  • Maintain organized, easy-to-navigate storage systems
  • Respond to inventory and product inquiries with professionalism and urgency

What You Bring

  • Experience as an Inventory Supervisor, Warehouse Supervisor, or similar role
  • Bonus if you’ve worked in medical supply, DME, or retail environments
  • Strong knowledge of inventory control and stock management
  • Experience with systems like UPS WorldShip, Brightree, or Elite Dispatch (preferred)
  • A leadership mindset — you know how to coach, motivate, and hold a team accountable
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to multitask and stay organized in a busy environment
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

Why You’ll Love It Here

  • Competitive pay and benefits
  • A supportive team that actually works together
  • Opportunity to grow and make an impact
  • Meaningful work in the healthcare and medical supply field — what you do matters

At Northern Pharmacy & Medical Equipment, we’re committed to delivering quality care and service to our community. Behind every product is a team making sure our patients and customers get what they need — when they need it.

Ready to Apply?

If you’re ready to bring structure, leadership, and energy to a team that values what you do — we’d love to hear from you.
